Food was good, although the menu is all over the place. Service is and has always needed some refining. The staff is young... which is good but they need training, didn't bring water when requested first, didn't check to see if the meal was ok until it was almost gone. We actually wanted something else but by the time the server came back it was a mute point! This has been the case since they first opened. The idea is good.. high end, good food, upscale, but the service is def lacking. They need a good manager to show the ropes. (: I live close & will continue to visit in hopes of good service to go along with the local and food.

Alice's is a great restaurant with lovely views of Lake Hopatcong. I especially like to go at sunset when I think the view is the most scenic. The decor is very tasteful and modern although is appropriate for the surrounding area, the reclaimed wood look and nautical feel adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. The Big Fish lounge (downstairs) is more upscale with plush decor, I recommend the lounge for the colder winter months. The menu has a small selection although should have something to suit everyone. I especially like the skirt steak which is always cooked perfectly. The empanadas are also very tasty. The barman Al is a joy and the wait staff are extremely friendly. The new mini-golf (located across from Alice's) is a good way to finish off a meal. A fantastic addition to the area, I hope Alice's is around for many years.
I recommend making reservations in advance as Alice's can get extremely busy.

I live in the area of this place and I go there by boat. Service is always good and there burgers are the best around the lake. Always a relaxing place to have lunch overlooking the lake.If you go during the summer time ask for a table on the Patio.

This is my third visit to Alice's and I just love the fresh, quality food! The portions are perfect and not huge, the servers are great, and the food just tastes fresh, fresh, fresh! You can't go wrong here-we order a mix of sides and they are all yummy. I believe they use locals ingredients and the taste is amazing, like the fresh corn. I also love the meatloaf entree. But be sure to save room for dessert--they always have seasonal crumbles with fruit and then add ice cream from a homemade ice cream shoppe nearby--this is an excellent seasonal treat that I always try no matter the fruit. The view is also beautiful from the deck but bring sunglasses. The parking is a bit hairy with the gravel way and not too many spaces. Can't wait to go back!

Perched on a hillside, the view from the deck is beautiful. We have eaten at Alice's often and have never been disappointed. The service is courteous and professional, and the food is good. The eclectic menu offers an interesting variety. Love the yummy Mac & cheese. The Chicken Thai salad (lunch) is excellent. The specials are always interesting. You never have to ask for a glass of water, they immediately place a bottle of plain and sparkling water on your table. In the winter, it's warm, inviting and cozy. In the summer, its one of our favorite spots. Open for breakfast on the weekends. Alice's is popular, so you may have to wait a bit.
