Just griping here: we had a bad experience at this restaurant the other night and felt that it needed to be reported. One person in our party ordered a drink....something new on the menu....which met with immediate disapproval. It was sent back, and replaced by something more acceptable (and a couple of times over). When the bill came, we were charged for the offending drink, even though it was sent back. The server (whose hands were tied) sent the manager (owner?) over, who was not the least bit apologetic. Her attitude was that, since the drink was poured, there's no refund. What happens when you send food back? It's the same thing, and there's no question that you won't be charged. Overall, the food at this place is passable, and service is not its hallmark. If it were not for going there to hear our friends perform, we'd never go there.

I went to dinner here the other night and this place has the worst service I have EVER experienced in my many years of dining out. We had to wait over an hour just to place an order and then had to wait another hour just to get our appetizers. We were there for 3 1/2 hours and NOT by choice. During this excessive time, we didn't receive any apologies or condolences from our server or the owner. I don't know how this woman is still in business, rather than helping out when she was understaffed she just hid in the kitchen. Thank goodness the food was good.

Wearhouse Grille is often overlooked as a Lake Hopatcong restaurant. It's technically not on the lake, but right off of it. The access via the lake is reserved for the patrons of the marina next door.

However, if you're driving in the area, this is a great place to stop for a bite. The Chaparral Chicken Sandwich is a family favorite (an obsession really). The various pasta, fish, and beef dishes are also yummy. It's the type of place where it's pretty hard to go wrong. Pumpkin Martinis are served in the fall and are to die for!

The only drawback is the decor. The bar (set in the back of the building) is comfy, warm, and casual. The dining room is New Jersey Italian Restaurant circa 1994. Weird, but really are you going in for the decor or the food?
