We chose to stay outside of the city during our last trip to NYC. We chose this hotel since the train stop is one block away, the nightly rate was cheaper than in the city, and the hilton name. I've stayed at hilton hotels and have not been disappointed with the cleanliness, which is the most important thing we look for in a hotel. We found a Five Guys close by and it was awesome. I love the cookies they give when you check in. Beware there is a charge for parking.

Terrific location, super friendly and attentive staff. Rooms large and clean, pillows and bed comfortable, shower head great. Perfect place to stay for Liberty State Park events. Beware of Holland Tunnel on a Friday night!

Felix was great at the front desk. He went over the top with the accomodations we recieved and had a great overall experience. The location of the hotel was perfect, safe well-lit area especially for night time walks. Easy access to the PATH train over to NYC. The hotel was very clean, smelled fresh everyday, no problems what so ever. The friendliness of the front desk and housekeeping departments were outstanding! Will return soon!

Upon arrival for my cousins wedding, we were greeted by a man yelling at us to move our car. There was no bellhop or a luggage cart to help unload my two elderly parents and my dad who was in a wheelchair. Then we after waiting on a long line we found out our room wasn't ready. It was 4:45pm and Doubletree advertises a 3pm check in. We still needed to get dressed and be back in the lobby in 45 minutes. The front desk apologized and said they had a contract with the airlines and they had a late checkout. Well my cousin also had a contract with a block of rooms set aside. But apparently that didn't matter. Only one elevator was working and so my 75 year old mother had to run down 7 flights to catch the bus to the wedding in heels as did many of the other guests in our group. No one in the front desk offered us anything, no hilton honor points, discount on our room or a free drink at the bar! I would have looked the other way if they even attempted to make it right but they didn't! No excuses for poor management! Never again!

I do apologize for the unsatisfactory experience you encountered during your recent visit as that is certainly not the norm. I am sorry there was a delay in getting your room available upon your arrival as we did have several large groups come in early and tried our best to keep the pace in cleaning the rooms form the sold out night before. I do understand that one of our 3 elevators did experience an interruption in service that was rectified as quickly as possible once the service provider arrived. I do hope you allow us another opportunity to regain your trust......as your sub par experience was certainly not the norm. Would be happy to offer you an upgrade during your next visit....

Terribly expensive room, very nice, but for the price you'd think they could leave you more than 1 bath towel per person. $17 for breakfast which doesn't include coffee? Really? $250 a night and you still have to pay to park a car? You've gotta have a really good reason to use this hotel in order to voluntarily get ripped off this bad. Like living where the traffic is a total rat's nest. Front desk people will tell you anything to get you to move on.

I do appreciate your comments and sorry that you did not feel there was a price value in staying with us. Please understand that all hotels in the Jersey City market do charge a fee for parking and our room rates remain competetive with that of area hotels. I am happy that you did find the hotel nice and perhaps you will give us another try during a slower period where the pricing may be slightly less. Hope to see you return......

The food is a bit overpriced, particularly breakfast, but I think overall its pretty good. Felix the dude is awesome, very affable. Makes the visit more enjoyable for sure. It's centrally located around Jersey City with awesome views.

The staff was friendly but Felix was the host with the most. He checked us in and upgraded us to a pent house. Very large and spacious. There was a comfortable bed and very comfortable sofa and great view looking to the front. The path train within walking distance and short ride to New York. The fridge ,coffee maker and microwave was a plus also tea and coffee was provided. DH had the buffet breakfast and I had the full breakfast both were excellent. Felix's mother raised a wonderful young man. We would stay again.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to a Penthouse.
