We were obviously the only people dining here late on a Sunday evening that were not from the neighborhood, but we were pleasantly (if not exuberantly) welcomed.
The menu is simple and the daily specials were waiting on a steam table behind the counter, but the food was great. Between us we had the roast pork and the roast chicken and black beans with rice. Portions were large, both meats were delicious and the beans and rice were perfect, but we agreed the pork was more flavorful than the chicken.
My wife and daughter had canned sodas and I had a pretty decent papaya shake.
It is not necessary to be a Spanish speaker, though it may make it more interesting.
We allowed our daughter to make the meal her treat - $28 including tip!
