“reminisce”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

the way the architecture was done to remember the people who died at wtc. if u look at the two walls at an angle youcan actually reminisce or imagine that the 2 towers were just there, people working there unknowingly that most of them died.

“Stunning”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

I grew up in Jersey City and go back often. I had no idea there was a 9/11 memorial until my last trip. I happened upon it on a walk along the waterfront promenade near the railway terminal. When I saw it I was stunned by its presence. Two massive parallel walls pointing toward the space where the Twin Towers used to be. As you walk between the walls you see the names of the dead inscribed with deserving dignity. There is a somber feeling to it all, as there should be. After living in sight of the Towers for over 20 years of my life I found this a very moving tribute.

“Fitting tribute, beautiful concept.”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

This memorial is not to be missed. We happened upon it by chance when we went to catch the Ferry to visit the statue of liberty. I was so moved by the name - Empty Sky - and by the memorial itself. The large rectangles come up from the ground to fill in the view that New Jersey once had. It is a simple monument with a powerful statement. It is not at all crowded and probably overlooked. The photos on this website really capture what the designers of the memorial were trying to accomplish. In addition to the memorial, there are two rusted and twisted pieces of metal that once belonged to the world trade center. It is a reminder of why those two polished gleaming metal beams exist in the first place. I enjoyed my visit and will return.
