Maritime Parc is a lovely place for a wedding, but I cannot post a positive comment on their service or their food. My daughter’s wedding was planned for August 27, 2011. Unfortunately, Hurricane Irene had other plans and her wedding was cancelled with less than 18 hours notice. While I am fully aware that Maritime Parc cannot be held responsible for a hurricane, they were irresponsible in refunding our money.
We were told when they cancelled the wedding, that there would be a refund within 8-10 days. After that time numerous calls were made and we were not given a straight answer. We had to involve the NJ Office of Consumer Affairs to get any results. They were able to get them to give us a partial refund, but we waited nearly 3 months from the day of cancellation to get our full refund. Even then, we were sent post dated checks in partial amounts until we were paid in full. The manager was not really polite about the situation and claimed he didn’t have the money to refund us.
It does say in their contract that they will give refunds if they have to cancel. It does not give a time frame. If you use this venue, make sure you have a time clause written in. It was not their fault that the wedding was ruined, but they made it more difficult to deal with the memory of it.
