“Wow, What A View!!!”
Reviewed February 9, 2010

The most romantic setting in New Jersey! The Best view of New York is from MA's. Arrive just before sunset Get a cocktail in hand and watch the show begin. As the sun sets in the west it illuminates the NYC skyline the reflected light is spectacular. As the sun continues to lower on the horizion the scene becomes more dramic with the City lights comeing to life as the orange glow disappears.

“Could be better...”
Reviewed December 17, 2009

I've been to Michael Anthony's many times and each time I hope for a better outcome. The food is marginal at best. The italian nachos are interesting but very heavy with cream sauce. The chicken tenders are tasteless and dry. The pasta with mushrooms is a safe bet. I've had it twice and enjoyed it both times.

The atmosphere is nice and the view is awesome. It can get cold in the winter and the bar specials are terrible.

Overall I want to like this place so much but i can't recommend it to others.

“Truly Disappointing”
Reviewed December 1, 2009

What a waste of a great and unparalleled location. Poor design and planning leads to a large cavernous echo chamber of a dining room and bar. Food seems like it was frozen at some point. If you have to visit, then go with a full stomach for a drink in the Summer, as this seems to be all they are relying on.

“Shouldn't they have their act together by now?”
Reviewed October 24, 2009

I live in the neighborhood & want M Anthony's to succeed, but won't be going back soon. When we were there recently (Fri night), the bar area was too noisy so we took a table inside, where a live entertainer was playing. He was fine, if unnecessary, but so amplified it was genuinely uncomfortable sitting thru dinner. Service is more oily than professional. The food's fine if not great, & at times not well thought out - why, for instance, serve a bountiful 3 cheese appetizer with 4 measly wafers? The restaurant has great bones, good design, good feel, but subpar execution - c'mon, management, you've made a huge investment that's fizzling, & it's yours to get right.

“Happiness on the Hudson”
Reviewed October 17, 2009

View of NYC like no other. Friendly atmosphere there. Small plate menu terrific. Salmon, Carpaccio, pop corn shrimp and seafood salad, awesome. These were a few of the ones I tried. They are great. Butter nut squash soup is excellent. Entrées cooked to my exact order. Try the salmon horseradish grill. My daughter loved the snapper and was very pleased. Have been back several times and will continue to do so.
