very nice, staff excellent ,very clean and pretty up to date.the Bartender ws very helpful and knowledgable. At times the front desk was empty but never waited past 3 min for help. This is a better than decent hotel, although it was a bit Pricey for the location and still have to travel a bit to NT and airport.

For a special getaway long weekend we booked one of the Westin's City View rooms and used it as a base for visiting sights in lower Manhattan. We could not have been more pleased with the Westin location, the room, and especially the incredible view of the Manhattan skyline. Staff was very friendly. The Westin location is only two blocks from the Newport PATH station to take the subway into Manhattan. The only issue is temporary closure of the lower Manhattan WTC PATH station on weekends to you need to go into midtown and connect. There is also a mall and there are several reasonable dining options within walking distance of the Westin. The bedding was comfortable and the view of the Manhattan skyline was worth leaving one of the curtains open all day and all night! Spectacular.

Room tip: The city view is more expensive but if you want a special weekend, book the view!

Beyond expectations! Cordial staff and top-notch amenities. Travelled for business and was extremely content. Would definitely recommend for multiple reasons, not to mention the ideal location for exploring the Metropolitan!

Such a nice place to stay, staff were extremely helpful, rooms were comfy and equipt with everything you need. It wasn’t too far from transport links you need, we came in on the Path left on the ferry back to New York. Found plenty of places to eat in the area

The rooms facing Manhattan are fantastic, as are the oversized bathrooms in these rooms. Staff was efficient and friendly. Otherwise it is a very clean and very standard Westin property. But beware the breakfast, whether or not you are a Bonvoy Platinum: plain and simple coffee will cost you $6 before tax and tip and that is unfortunately indicative of pricing for the rest of the breakfast menu too.

This place clearly illustrates that Bonvoy is most likely not worth sticking with the Marriott/SPG brand portfolio. The real issue is that the breakfast costs completely devalue loyalty to the brand. You need to spend a bit of money on Marriott to reach Bonvoy Platinum and then you expect to see those benefits that Marriott lured you with, one of which is free breakfast. Nobody is asking for a buffet but giving me the choice between (1) a Banana/Danish, eating it on a couch in the lobby ("grab&co" option) or (2) allowing me to sit in the restaurant ($10 voucher) but charging me close to $8 for coffee ($6+tax+tip) is asking for bad feedback. That said, if you aren't loyal to Marriott/SPG, this is a good hotel. If you are loyal to Marriott/SPG, this makes you re-think that loyalty, especially if you know that the equivalent status at Hilton (Diamond) gets you a full breakfast (including coffee) at the DoubleTree next doors. All that said, if you want to stick with Marriott/SPG and get great breakfast in Jersey City, I can highly recommend the Residence Inn by Grove Street Station. Full breakfast, large rooms, and much more upscale than you'd expect from a Renaissance Inn.
