We thought that a 9am start was so early - but do it!
We caught the boat across from Liberty Park at 8:30 as our taxi was early. We stayed on the boat when it called at Ellis Island, and went to the Statue of Liberty. We are so glad we did! The island was very quiet, meaning no lines for anything!
We had tickets for the pedestal and crown, and we had no waiting anywhere! The rangers at the top of the statue were really friendly and were clearly proud of where they worked!
We caught the ferry back to Manhattan, stopping at Ellis Island at about 10:30 - it was packed - you couldn't move for people!
Great day out, recommend it!
