“Manhattan in Central Jersey”

This is one of the little gems that offer "Manhattan" quality dining way outside of Manhattan. The Steak Diane is one of the best meals I've ever had and the roasted tomato soup is unique and delicious. They periodically have special menus geared to the season, such as a menu featuring game meats and in the spring, fiddleheads! The staff is friendly and efficient and the chef usually comes out to speak with the guests. This is one of the first restaurants I recommend when people ask for a great place to eat.

“Wonderful food”

I highly recommend Fiddleheads. The Seabass I ordered was cooked to perfection and everyone else in our group was extremely happy with their choice. Thank you Brian and Dan for never disappointing us.

“Very enjoyable meal”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

A bunch of hungry runners can be hard to satisfy but this little gem met the challenge head on and performed very well. We had just finished a workout and were ready to eat. The food and service were excellant. I had the eggs benidict w/ asparagus and was very pleased, cooked properly and with just enough sause to compliment the dish and not overpower it. The others in the group had the egg scrambles, big breakfast and the french toast and those meals looked great. Our coffee cup was never allowed to empty and neither was our water glasses. The wait staff was very pleasant and friendly and the owner/cook came out to make sure our meal was good. Gonna schedule more morning runs in this area so we can return more frequently.

“Delicious, Unique, Charming & Cozy”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

My husband and I were looking to find a BYOB in New Jersey that we hadn't tried before and I found Fiddleheads after a Google search for BYOB places. What a find! From the moment I called to make the reservation, the staff was kind and pleasant. The restaurant is located in a small storefront in Jamesburg, New Jersey which is a very quick ride off exit 29 on Route 18. We took our bottle of bubbly and had a wonderful evening. The menu is very creative with a lot of choices as my husband and I are vegetarians who eat a little fish. After enjoying a wonderful warm breadbasket with hummus we ordered the mushroom brushetta with cheese which was WONDERFUL. The crabcakes were filled with fresh crab meat, peppers and a perfect addition of apple. They were so unique. We then moved onto the smoked tomato soup and the poached pear salad. Both were very fresh and, AGAIN, unique in their presentation and flavor. Up next, we enjoyed the baked brie, the asparagus tart and these little zuchini cakes which were fantastic! We topped off our meal with a "love" cake which was a cheesecake type cake with a chocolate type of frosting. It was unusual and nothing we had ever had before. Everything was made on premises, super fresh and delicious. The chef even came out from the kitchen a few times and checked on all the tables to make sure everyone was happy and enjoying the dishes. For ALL THAT FOOD, the bill was $66.00 without gratuity. Fiddleheads also serves brunch so we'll be BACK to try it. The restaurant is small and rather plain, but the food is the star here and the service was lovely. Put it on your list to try!
