“A Hidden Treasure”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

We were totally amazed to find Duke Gardens open again after several years of 'remodeling'. Over 2700 acres of land make up the farm which include various low key attractions. You can hike, bike or walk all or some of the 18 miles of paths that wind past lakes, streams, through meadows and woods. They even rent you bicycles at no cost. Oh yes, there is no admission fee. There is also a tram that makes a 30 minutes circuit with 3 stops. Get on or off at any stop. Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of time to spend but I am planning at least 2 trips back to share this extraordinary farm/garden with other friends. It's a fabulous day trip(s) for one or many. Loved it!!!!

“Should be on top ten East Coast sites to visit”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

Calling Duke Farms a farm is like calling Versailles a house. JB Duke gave us all a gift that everyone should see. Spring is here and so am I! No where else I would rather be today

“A great escape in the middel of NJ”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

A great place to go on a beautiful day. I you like being outside and walking or bike riding. Many great trails and places to explore. Learning about the history in the main building was very interesting. Sheds a light on the past of NJ and some of its wealthy inhabitants. The walks are easy and beautiful. Even for expereinced hikers it is a beautiful walk. It can take a few hours to get through the entire park.

“Nice place but Gardens now closed”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

Nice place for bike ride or hiking(11 miles of roads/bike trails) but the duke gardens being closed/shut down is disappointing. Visitor center is nice, very clean bathrooms. Place does not allow pets , and does not allow fishing in the @ 9 lakes onsite. All those lakes I believe were manmade by the Duke family for their use years ago and now no public use of the lakes is allowed.

“Epcot Wannabe”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

Remodel lost ALL the charm of the Duke Estate and Epcot does a better job of pringing the future to home. Most city visitors know that milk comes fgrom a cow ... but do not have a clue how. Same for eggs & chickens. All that is LOST in the redo. Sorry.
