“Fabulous dinner at Inlet Cafe”
Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

Four of us went to the Inlet Cafe last night. We had a reservation and sat at a table right next to the water. It was beautiful. Everyone gets the house cole slaw ( large bowl to share -YUM)and fresh bread.
I ordered one of the specials- stuffed mahi mahi in a mango sauce, which was absolutely delicious. All of my dining mates were very happy with their dinners too. Excellent dinner!

“Nice setting but just "OK"”
Reviewed July 27, 2013 via mobile

The place is in a nice spot overlooking the water. Based upon the prices on the menu vs. the food you get, you are obviously paying for location.

We started with a couple of appetizers including an octopus special. The octopus itself was fresh and well prepared but the 6 or 7 small pieces that we got were lost in a salad - very little fish provided. The lobster roll was good and linguini and clam sauce adequate - tasted as if there was more butter in the sauce than clam juice, white wine, etc. Good, but nothing more.

The service was friendly but inconsistent. Helpful tips from the waitress but four requests for water before it finally came.

“Oblivious to Customers”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

We just went today on a Summer Sunday afternoon and was told there would be a 20 minute wait for an outside table, even though there was no one standing near the hostess and 6 open tables on the patio. We were very hungry and decided to allow ourselves to be seated indoors. You need to understand the big draw here is the view of the water. Once you are not allowed to see it, you are basically staring at a brick wall, the waiter station or the bar while you are waiting for food, so you think they would serve you quickly. They did not.

We were dumped at a table and forgotten for over 10 minutes. In the meantime I saw the hosetss clear her backlog and seat people at outside tables as they walked up.

When we finally got a waiter, he asked for our drink order but failed to provide us with the drink menu when we were seated. This involved another wait to get it and have my wife try to decide what she wanted while the guy stood over her. I reminded him we were waiting some time and would like to order the food as well and he took the order and disappeared.

A soda arrived from behind me and was slammed on the table as someone ran away. The glass was not even full. A few minutes later a cup of chowder appeared for me, but nothing for my wife, not even bread. Other tables were given bread. We ordered full dinners and expected at least some bread.

While we waited we got to enjoy the blasting of the bar blenders and the loud fraternity -like yelling of the waitstaff in what was supposed to be a dining room.

What must have been 15 minutes later, our food arrived as someone went from table to table asking if it was their food until it finally got to us.Mine was cold, which means it was made some time ago and not delivered, nor kept warm while my wife's food was prepared.

She has asked for tartar sauce and ketchup when she ordered and that took another major effort to get that delivered.

They never came back to refill drinks.

I have enjoyed going to this place several times in the past but this was definitely a bad day. My recommendation to you is never accept a table inside and bring large breasted women with you and fistfuls of cash to openly spend on as many drinks as you can stand because they are only interested in one thing, tips on liquor from patio patrons.

All of a sudden the restaurant across the street is looking more attractive...

“Very mediocre”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

Was here last summer and remembered it being better. Fried clams were tiny crumbs reminiscent of Mrs. Paul's. Should have sent them back. Very disappointing. Shrimp was nothing special...Crabcake sandwich on the other hand was quite crabby and guest liked it. Mediocre experience overall for sure. Have had way better seafood meals at the Bonefish grill---and that should not be the case for a waterfront seafood restaurant!!

“Open after Sandy!”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Right on the water, hurricane waters came up the doors...Inlet all redone. Just reopened. Hostess owner, Lynda, welcomed us. Even though we didn't have area, she seated us quickly. Tasty steamers, lobster and calamari. Servers responsive and friendly. Will return on a nice summer night when it's not raining!!
