“Met Our Needs and We Shall Return”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

This hotel was chosen based on Trip Advisor reviews and proximity to relatives in NJ/NY. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was superior to other moderately priced hotels we have stayed in. The front desk personnel were friendly and professional. We had a pretty good buffet breakfast ($30 for two including a tip). The waiters were very attentive on Monday morning. We stayed for two nights. The charge for Sunday night was more than Saturday night (about $20). On Saturday night we observed a sign posted on the elevator which reported that the water would be shut off between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. We were surprised that the front desk personnel did not inform us of the rate change and the lack of water after 9:00 AM on Monday morning. Nonetheless we plan on using this hotel in the future.

Room Tip: This hotel has a Comedy Club (BANANAS). Beware of parking and crowd/noise issues (if staying on the...

Thank you for your review and staying with us at the Holiday Inn Hasbrouck Heights. We appreciate your comments about our friendly service, clean rooms and comfortable bedding.
I'm sorry our staff failed to inform you of the rate changes during your stay and the maintenance
repair on the water system on Monday. I hope this didn't inconvenence you. We did notify all our guest of the water repair by notices in rooms and in the elevators. I'm glad we met your expectation and that you will return. We welcome the opportunity to serve you again and forward
to seeing you again. Best wishes.

My family and I have stayed here at least 12 nights in the past 4 months closing up my Dad's place in NJ. The hotel is nice, the restaurant & bar are good, and all the staff are EXCEPTIONAL! No matter what time of day & night we arrived, we always received a welcoming reception. Continuing, on our first stay there, we arrived about 5 minutes before the restaurant closed. The staff there was more than accommodating and did not rush us even though it clearly was closing time! How nice after a stressful drive!

Speaking of the drive, that is our only complaint! Coming from the smallest state in the Union (RI) and driving to one in the largest, we were traumatized by crossing the GW Bridge! LOL! Damn, NY & NJ drivers are crazy! And here we thought the Mass drivers were bad! Thankfully, the bar at the hotel is open late! We had a couple of cocktails upon arrival. And, while passing the front desk on the way back to our rooms (after cocktails & dinner), the front desk asked if we were better! YUP, we were!

Thankfully, our business in NJ is done, but should we ever need to be in that area again, we will definitely stay at Hasbrouck Heights Holiday Inn!

Thank you for your review of our Holiday Inn. We appreciate your comments about our hotel and our staff. I'm glad you enjoyed our hotel and restaurant. Especially, after your commute from RI a few cocktails was just what you needed to relax. Thank you and we hope you will come visit us again.

This is a older classic Holiday Inn. It has received regular upgrades so it fresh and well appointed. The age is only evident from the architecture, small stairs to meeting areas requiring add on lifts and such. If you have mobility issues, it is full accessible, but could be a bit of a pain for a conference.

The hotel is surprisingly quiet for being right on the highway and near the Teterboro airport. It is popular with the Biz jet pilots and the restaurant has excellent service. Very attentive. The ambiance is typical fare, they might want to figure out how to make the dining area match the high quality of service.

It has all the amenities you would want. Easy free parking. It is New Jersey so you have to plan on the “Jersey Jug Handle U-Turn” to get to and from the hotel. A GPS would be very helpful. Expect to drive a mile past the property northbound before you can make a U-Turn.

I think what makes this place really a value is the location. If you want to be near the airport, this is the best property. This property is much better then Totowa, which is of similar age, but noisy. If you are looking for something more upscale with the new Euro theme, try the one in Harmon Meadows just a few miles south.

Room Tip: Higher is always better. But it appears all rooms are quiet.

I do not understand how this hotel is seen as an "outstanding" hotel. This hotel was a disaster to stay at. So much went wrong, a window was being replaced from 8am-11am on the first day of our stay. The workers were loud and inconsiderate, and it was a tiresome annoyance as we were trying to get well needed rest after a long previous day of travel. Sound also travels well here as the next night we were up all night from people running down the hallway screaming, acting like animals. The next day my fiance got stuck inside the elevator, it was extremely scary, and VERY upsetting for both of us. When the hotel staff got him out - they claimed the elevator was "slow". Funny how a "slow" elevator then had an "out of service" sign posted on it for the next two days, with maintenance workers swarmed around it. We were upset that nothing was done to apologize or accommodate us for what happened in the elevator. Telling us it was just "slow" only made us feel stupid when we knew what had happened. We were given a handicapped room, which I'm sure is because we used a third party site to book. Although the hotel rooms were very clean , *some* of the staff were very friendly and the free parking was nice -the cons DEFINITELY outweighed the pros, I would never stay here again, very inconvenient of a place. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

We stayed in a king suite last weekend as we were seeing our favorite comic at the Bananas Comedy Club. We live about 3 hours away so we thought it was a good idea to make a short overnighter. We were so pleased to have such a nice comfortable room and lovely bathroom. Plenty of very nice towels and extra blanket and pillows in the closet were a nice touch. The assistant manager was very nice and gave us the reduced rate package deal since we were attending the attached Bananas Comedy Club. I will definitely return again when our favorite comedian Bobby Collins pays the club again and bring some of our family along too.

One of the better hotels in the area. It's a little outside of NYC but it's convenient for my work sites and close to the Sports Complex. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I think they have a pretty decent breakfast and their dinners are also pretty good. I almost always stay here for business and look forward to going back.

I came here as a large group, so we got a good discount on our rooms. Rooms were decent- nothing special, but in good shape, clean and comfortable. There was a mini fridge and microwave, which was nice.
It was on a major road and not within walking distance of any stores or restaurants other than McDonald's. This isn't an issue if you have a car, but we came in a bus so we were kind of stuck there unless we got a taxi. There was a bus stop nearby where you could take a bus into the city.
Speaking of NYC, it wasn't very terribly close. I think maybe about a half hour to get there? And of course, that can be a lot longer if traffic is bad. But in that area, you have to balance convenience against price.
If I came on my own, I would look into lodging elsewhere, just to find a location I liked better. But it wasn't a bad place to stay.

I'm not assure if you were aware that we have 2 shuttle vans that you may request to take you to restaurants and the local shopping mall all within minutes from the hotel. We do our best to honor all request as the shuttle service is available to locations within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. Maybe this will be of some help if you choose to stay with us in the future.
