My wife and I recently visited Long Beach Island for a daytrip and to view how Sandy affected this wonderful resort. LBI has recovered from the ravages of the storm very well. However it was not easy to find an open restaurant in the "off-season" at lunchtime. We asked one of the residents for a recommendation for a restaurant and he recommended "The Plantation Restaurant" in Harvey Cedars. We were not disappointed. The place has a wonderful atmosphere and some good lunchtime fare. The sandwiches that we ordered were tasty, hot off the grill, and the service was worthy of note. The strong suite of this restaurant is the very pleasant atmosphere and surroundings. We also looked at the dinner menu which was extensive. We plan to return for dinner. It's worth a visit if you are planning to go to LBI before the very busy summer season begins..
