Its a neat hotel i would say. If you plan to come on a holiday trip and stay in this hotel, this hotel is not for you. Business purpose i would say its an excellent hotel. I think the breakfast need to improved a lot! Lastly, I loved the staff on the front desk and the guys operating the shuttle. Extremely helpful. Otherwise a Great hotel.

This was our first visit to the area. We stayed here for the great price and most of all location to get to New York on a daily bases during our trip..fantastic stay , great staff, great breakfst a lot to choose from. Would stay again. Close to train station to get to New York. Not much to do in the area but we felt safe and would stay again.

We drove from the East Coast of Canada and stayed there from the 18 - 24 August. Two adults and two teenage daughters. We were very well received upon arrival. The room was exceptionally clean. The breakfast was extensive and very good. My daughters used the pool which was also very nice. The shuttle service was also very good and the drivers were all very helpful and courteous. The location of the hotel and shuttle gave us easy access to the Path train for which we used everyday to NYC.
Excellent value for a family on a budget.
Thank you all at the Hampton Inn for making our stay a terrific one.
Paul P.

I was looking for a NJ Hotel from which transport to Manhattan was both quick and inexpensive and the Hampton Inn was just that. With the hotel shuttle to Newark Penn Station and the PATH, we were in no time in Manhattan. Getting picked up in the evening at Penn Station and from the airport when we arrived was difficult though because there seemed to be only one shuttle running at a time. When we arrived at the airport after a long flight from Europe, we had to wait 50(!) minutes for the shuttle to come. Some other hotels sent three buses in that time.
The hotel itself was a typical Hampton Inn with a nice breakfast area, a good sized indoor pool and outdoor seating. The Riverwalk wasn´t what I expected because there were no shops or restaurants, only a junk yard at the other side of the river. The area itself was a bit questionable and so we preferred not to explore it apart from the Dunkin Donuts, the Popeye´s and the Hess opposite and next to it. If you are sensitive to noise, I would not stay here because there are trains running all day and night and you can hear them in your room.

Hotel is located directly across from downtown Newark. Hotel lobby has a nice small bar which was a very nice feature. They do not serve food so you will have to find somewhere else for dining options. Tops Diner directly down the road has excellent food and a full service bar as well. The property is situated on a nice river walk with a patio seating area located right outside of the pool. Easy access to Newark Penn Station and EWR Airport with a complimentary shuttle.
