Zipping down Rt 94 South we caught a glimpse of this expansive winery and made a sudden and dangerous u-turn to check it out!! First of all, Garret their new manager has got to be one of the most personable and intelligent managers we have ever met!!! He greeted us and generously explained how everything worked there. Showed us some of the kegs and even though we were not planning on actually doing a tasting, decided after his efforts we just had to. Sat out in the back under a large tent(s) with live music playing just in front of the vineyard - it was just such a relaxing and visually pleasing scene it put us at ease immediately. Coupled with the fact that others sitting at our table were so friendly and fun to speak with, the day was starting to look up. You get a little menu of wines and a short pencil with which to select (reminiscent of mini-golf places) then pay a whopping $5 and the fun begins. Their chardonnay was average but their Cabernet Sauvignon was particularly tasty! Additionally, we tasted some port that they don't even have on their menu yet. That port was very good and certainly worth the $18/bottle price. Most wines were around the $25/bottle mark and the choices were rather diverse for a small winery.
Definitely a destination for us now that we know it's there! And Kudos to management for picking such wonderfully attentive and fun staff!!! Thanks to all for a great time!!
