Three women escaping for 2 nights, we chose this hotel after reading reviews on SpaFinder, TripAdvisor plus a friend's recommendation and it was great. Only an hour from home but the mountain setting was beautiful. We shared a studio overlooking the putting greens and did not trip over one another at all. The kitchenette was really well-situated within the room. There was even a washer/dryer in a closet which was great to dry bathing suits. The decor makes it suitable to summer and winter without verging into cheesy ski-chalet style.

Hotel is fairly new and the spa is going to be finished this fall but we had great services at the spa on the sister property which was 5 minutes away by car. The other property has a more elaborate fitness center with classes but the one in Grand Cascades was very nice too. The best part is that the pools are set up so that some of them can be enjoyed all year or in bad weather. THe Biosphere pool looks like its in a greenhouse but is not stuffy at all, and has a hot tub, sauna and steam room and waterslide too. If you go and the weather cooperates, be sure to check out the other pool areas out past the pro shop. We almost missed them and that would have been a shame. The terrace outside the biosphere has stuff to do for kids/adults like pool, ping pong and foosball. We arent golf people but if you are there was no shortage of that. It is easy to see how great this place would be in the winter since its right next to the ski lifts.

Just keep in mind this is a resort so food prices arent cheap and there is not a whole lot of activity during the week. There isnt much to do in the evening but that was fine with us. We heard from the staff that the weekends are quite busy. For a close by vacation, it really fit the bill.

We just returned from a quick getaway at the Grand Cascades Lodge At Crystal Springs Resort.
I did not book the room before we arrived, wanted to see the Lodge first, as pictures can be deceiving.
The pictures did not depict how nice the Lodge was!
Upon arrival we asked at the front desk to see a room before we regisitered and were very pleased. The rooms were large, clean, and well appointed. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating.
We booked a studio with separate bedroom. The studio had a beautiful kitchen, with microwave, stove, fridge, dishes. Anything you need if you want to cook on your own. It also had a washer and dryer. Perfect if you are staying for a week. The living room had a fireplace and flat screen TV. The balcony had a beautiful view on the mountains and a lovely patio set. We sat outside with our breakfast, very relaxing.
The pools were very nice and I wish we could have spent more time there.
We had lunch and dinner at the tavern. Both times we had an excellent meal.
This was a spur of the moment quick trip for us, and we would definitely go back again. We left early and it took us about an hour to reach NYC.
My only suggestion would be to have coffee in the lobby in the morning. If you chose not to use the coffee pot in your room, you have to go to the Tavern to purchase coffee. The Tavern is a bit of a hike from the room. In the lobby they had a Bistro, which I hoped would serve coffee and muffins, but was closed.
