My husband and I stayed here for two nights for his birthday/belated anniversary getaway. Check in did take a few minutes, as it looked like a wedding had just finished and many guests from that were checking in but it wasn't too bothersome. We originally booked a studio suite and were happy to find out that we had been upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite upon check in! Our room was beautiful, it had a full kitchen, gas fireplace in the living room, a huge stand up shower & jetted tub in the bathroom, and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in the bedroom. We felt the walls might be a little thin, since we could hear some noise from neighboring rooms but it didn't bother us very much. We ate Crystal Tavern which was delicious, even the room service food was great. We did check out the Biosphere Pool which was very cool, the water was so warm! The hot tub was nice touch and we enjoyed the water slide too. We went to Reflections Spa on our last day and had a great couples massage. They had many other activities too that we didn't take advantage of, although we'll be sure to on our next visit! All of the employees we encountered, from the front desk to room service to housekeeping, were incredibly friendly. We cannot wait for our next visit!

Room Tip: Get a suite - it's worth the extra money. Also ask to be away from the ballrooms, to cut down on...

My husband and I stayed overnight at Grande Cascades to celebrate our anniversary, and enjoyed every aspect of the facility from the lovely grounds to the multiple gas fireplaces in cozy nooks to the excellent food (room service for dinner and the Latour restaurant for brunch) to our extraordinarily comfortable bed. We arrived in low spirits, as we had lost our beloved cat to cancer the week before, but left feeling somewhat comforted and in a more positive frame of mind...it was just what the doctor ordered.

Dear Silver Lining,

Thank you for choosing our resort to celebrate your anniversary, and it is truly our pleasure to read that you departed our property feeling refreshed and uplifted. We whole-heartedly agree with you that losing a pet can feel like losing a close friend or family member, and can be a very draining experience. We are glad that your stay helped put you in a better frame of mind and allowed you to enjoy a special occasion. We are humbled by your kind words and sincerely appreciate your post. Thank you, and we look forward to your next visit to Grand Cascades.

Recently stayed here for one night. The resort is large, has a great golf course and even putt putt. Are room was very rustic. The king bed had a Tempurpedic mattress on it was too soft and not supportive enough for my taste, but I know it is a popular brand. The kitchen was nice. The hallways were very loud and we smelled smoke in the halls as well. I didn't know they still allowed smoking at hotels. There was a wedding there so that might have contributed to all the noise. We ate dinner at the Italian Bistro and were disappointed. My wife got the Spaghetti and meatballs that was supposed to have homemade pasta and meatballs. The pasta, was cooked too long and the sauce was not great, also it was over priced at $28 for that type of dish. I got the lamb shack, which was good. The Biosphere pool was amazing, definitely a place for families to hangout. We also got massages at the Reflections Spa, which were good. The breakfast brunch was very good and reasonably priced.

Overall the lodge is very good, not excellent. It is a great place to take a family. The kids can go to the pool, Dad can play golf, Mom can get a massage etc. There is also hiking trails, and kids activities that you can drop your kids off at. We will definitely be back once we have kids and are looking forward to it.

Dear Alex,

Thank you for your post, and we are happy to read that you had an enjoyable stay at Grand Cascades Lodge. We know you travel often and your opinion matters to us. We agree that amongst the golf, spa, pool, and other activities are many opportunities to have a fun, memorable, and rejuvenative stay, for adults and for children. We appreciate your kind words about our resort dining, but were sorry to read that your dinner at Springs was not exceptional. For that, we apologize, and are confident that your next visit to the restaurant will be outstanding. Regarding our policy on smoking, it is not permitted, as is the case with most hotels; however, all of our suites have balconies which smoking guests frequently take advantage of. This is generally not a bother to other non-smoking guests, but when it is, our front desk managers are available to assist. Should you experience that on your next visit please do let us know!

We thank you again for your review and for choosing our resort, and we very much look forward to your next stay.

This was our second visit to the Grand Cascade Lodge. This time we were in the studio suite, well worth the $30 difference of the premium room where we stayed last time. This time we were given a map of the facility which was a big help to get around as the property is huge! Also we were given explanations on how to get to the different areas that we were interested in. The staff was very friendly and helpful which made our stay very pleasant. Our room was lovely with amazing views. It was very quiet which lent to a good night sleep.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Parker,

To have had the opportunity to welcome you back to our resort, and in celebration of a birthday no less, is an opportunity we sincerely appreciated, and we couldn't be happier to read that you enjoyed your stay. I would likewise recommend to any guest visiting to upgrade to a suite if available because it really is a great value. And, if you are looking for peace and quiet, there is no better time than our "off season" to get in that relaxation. We are glad you enjoyed your time here at Cascades, we thank you for your post, and we most certainly look forward to your next stay!

My wife found this resort by chance over the summer looking for an " upstate, family, addirondak feel". Turns out they have it all and are so much closer (2 hours from the middle of Long Island). The condo style rooms are warm, well furnished and very comefortable. The building is beautiful, check in went very fast and the wow factor when you walk into your room makes for a great start to your stay.

Staying with the family we found plenty of activities to keep everyone busy. Putting greens right outside the building, fishing, archery, hiking, indoor/outdoor pools with slide and hot tub. Just down the block we had fun with horseback riding, zip lining and of course the watermark or skiing depending on what season you choose.

We came back in October with my brothers and spouses and had a great time golfing and hitting the spas for the girls. Again the rooms were very comefortable and the girls said the spa treatments were first rate. Golf was great for the guys and the courses were in great condition. We did eat at the resort and felt it was reflective of the overall great service there.

Summer and Fall have been great. We can't wait for our next visit.

Room Tip: When golfing, play Ballyowen at your own risk. On a par with Shinicock and Bethpage Black. Two feet...
