I've live here over a decade and never stopped in but finally tried it once with the kids. It was about 15 minutes prior to closing and the owner way very abrupt almost militant about us ordering, the mugs, etc. The chicken was greasy. The root beer was good. I'll never return.

We mostly order their chicken for special functions/parties and it is consistently good. As long as you call a week ahead, Jim will gladly take an order for almost any quantity you need - we've ordered anywhere from 50 - 200 pieces and he always has it ready when promised. Our family and friends come to expect that we'll have Golden Skillet chicken at all our gatherings!
The owner is a little quirky but nice, and it's recommended that if you want just a chicken dinner for your family that you call an hour ahead if possible.
