This place has restored my desire to eat more Mexican food. I work a few blocks away but rarely stick around the neighborhood after work. But recently the work crew decided to take advantage of a local eatery. I was pleasantly surprised; I haven't had this quality of South of the Border fare in a long time. Everything is authentic and fresh; start with the guacamole. I had their Chicken Enchiladas with Mole sauce and it was terrific. Mole sauce can be questionable in some places but their's is outstanding.I've also had their ceviche which was equally outstanding. It's a BYOB but they will serve their virgin Sangria by the pitcher; just add your own wine. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You're not traveling there for the scenery; Bergen County Jail is across the street. But it does remind you that you are free to sit there and order whatever you want, whenever you want. I hesitated to write this review because I fear that they'll get so crowded.

My son and I were visiting someone at the County Jail ,across the street ,and we decided to try this place for dinner .The interior and exterior are brightly painted with Mexican motifs .The inside was very clean and we had menus immediately .The waiter was excellent and came back several times to check all was OK . My son ordered fajitas and the iron pan continued to sizzle for at least 5 minutes .The portion was plentiful with lots of chicken .I had a taco salad which was a bit on the small side ,but tasty .The sangria tasted great on a hot day . We would definitely go back !

We visited on a cold spring evening and found the sunshine of Mexico inside. The place was decorated in bright vibrant colors. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We dine early so the place was not busy.

Upon being seated we were given some chips and salsa. The salsa was an indication of things to come. It had a nice deep tomato flavor with fresh cilantro and a nice bite of jalapeno.

We ordered the Camarones al Ajillo as an appetizer, sauteed shrimp with a chipotle sauce. The shrimp were nicely flavored but could have been cooked less. The chipotle sauce was creamy and with a nice smokey bite as well.

The main courses were Churrasco (Skirt Steak) with rice and bean and sirloin steak with a tomato and spicy cherry pepper topping with rice and bean.

Both steaks were well grill with a nice touch of char and tender and flavorful. The beans were a great match. They were creamy, and with a deep rich flavor, I ordered some to take home with use. In fact, the portion was generous so we took half of the meat as well.

Being in a Mexican restuarant, you should not forget to try the Pastel de Tres Leches dessert.
The cake was firm and fresh and absorbed the milks well. Quite a treat to end.

They also have speciality tacos with beef, pork, chicken, tongue, goat.. But that will need to wait until next time.
