Although the Frenchtown Cafe serves all sorts of food, we only partake of their super breakfast. We drive a long way to get there. They serve special dishes with a little flair(if you are into something special) like
eggs Florintene made on a bed of yummy spinich and their trade-mark homestyle potato
chunks browned to perfection. 5 choices of bread types for toast and butter and the coffee keeps coming...hot and good. Omlettes are also perfect. Regular two eggs over easy are also available and the like. Wonderful pancakes! Shopping in the historic little town stores after a good breakfast is a lot of fun. One block from the bridge into Pa., a beautiful drive along the Delaware is a lovely thing to do, as well.,This is a hidden pearl.

This is the place to go for breakfast in Frenchtown! It's nothing fancy - a storefront eatery - but the food is terrific and you won't leave hungry. There's counter service, booths, and a few tables near the front. Everyone seems to know everyone else here. It's a quaint, charming place where time seems to have stopped many decades ago. There's rarely an empty table.

Their 3-egg omelets are delicious and the French Toast is also wonderful. The coffee in your mug is refilled often by pleasant servers who will never rush you. You pay a cashier on the way out.

What a wonderful surprise. Compares favorably with the best restaurants in Philadelphia
for quality, ambiance, and service - at half of the price. The food is simply marvelous,
beautifully presented, and very reasonably priced. Menu is interesting - the Beef
Wellington is simply incredible.
Will go again and again.

I've been going to the Frenchtown Cafe for about 8 years. I absolutely love the Poached Eggs Florentine, but I haven't ordered anything I didn't like from this place. In fact, when I moved to Colorado, Frenchtown Cafe was one of the things I missed most about this area! This place is always packed, but turns tables quickly. In the colder months, the owner brings hot coffee outside for waiting customers... and you may be thinking, "Who waits outside in the cold for a table?" But, if you eat here, you'll know why! The service is always friendly, and the atmospere is warm and cozy. You are always acknowledged when you come in, most times by the owner... even when it's super busy - and all of the servers seem to pay attention to all of the tables, so if you need something you can always get someone's attention. My personal favorites on the breakfast menu (in addition to the Poached Eggs Florentine - homemade creamed spinach, under poached eggs, melted provolone, and crumbled bacon) are the Vegetarian Bliss (w/ added crumbled bacon for me, of course) and the Huevos Rancheros. On a Sunday morning, this is the only restaurant in Frenchtown with a group of people waiting outside... It's definitely worth the wait. And, do yourself a favor - if they have peach pie, grab a slice for later!
