“Private Suite- A+ Vacation at the B&B”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We had such an enjoyable time at the Widow McCrea B&B during our 2 day stay over the July 4th holiday! Our Privacy Suite was nicely furnished with Victorian antiques, and the feather bed was oh so comfortable. The Jacuzzi tub is a major bonus…very relaxing. For those who want some modern amenities, there is cable tv and wi-fi! The breakfasts were both bountiful and tasty, delivered right to our door. One day we had a delicious crepe, the next a fancy soufflé, along with muffins, yogurt, fruit and juice. So yummy! Lynn and Burt do an amazing job, thank you!

Frenchtown itself was very quaint with its shops and restaurants. We rented bikes and rode through the bikepath along the Delaware River. And kayaked in Nockamixon State Park. We will definitely be back! Thad & Sandra

Our extended Family spent a three-day weekend in June at the Widow McCrea House. Hosts Lynn and Bert made every effort to acommodate everyone's needs and ensure that it was a truly special event! The rooms are lovely, spotlessly clean and varied to meet the needs of a variety of guests. The three-course breakfast was delicious! The Kase Cottage provided a lovely setting for family with children and as one of three rooms our group stayed in, provided a great place for family to gather in a private setting and yet to allow other guests to fully enjoy their stays. Lynn and Bert are experienced innkeepers who are attuned to the interests of a wide range of guests. Both hosts love to provide concierge services; they are very willing to suggest and even arrange for kayaking, restaurant and other activities. They are extremely knowledgeable about the area.

We chose the Widow McCrea House to enjoy a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary and what a good choice it was! We stayed in the Rittenhouse Room, which was roomy and comfortable. And it's true-the breakfasts are indescribably scrumptious. A lovely house in a lovely quaint little town to spend some special time. D & B

A beautiful house, very clean rooms and an amazing breakfast. We could not get over the three course breakfasts! One day it was a blueberry muffin, poached pear and then amazing french toast. Great location-- you can walk to town. There is a kayak place five minutes away as well.

This is a wonderful place to retreat to when we want to get away from the big city. The cottage is not only cozy and beautifully appointed, but it enchanted us from the start. We feel each time we come as if we entered a different world. And Frenchtown itself is enchanting - a slice of a old American straight out of a Currier and Ives print.

Room Tip: If you have a small child, the cottage is an excellent choice (if a bit pricey).

My girlfriend and I wanted to get away for a much needed break from our daily stressful lives and we didn't want to "break the bank". I had heard about The Widow McCrea from a friend, so we decided to give it a shot. We opted to stay in the cottage and we absolutely loved it! It was just what we needed to unwind. The cottage is beautiful, the hospitality extended by Lynn and Burt was impeccable and the breakfasts were amazing! Frenchtown is such a nice, quaint town and being so close to New Hope too, there was so much to do. We only wish we had more time to spend there. We highly recommend The Widow McCrea and can't wait to visit again!

Room Tip: You can't go wrong, all the rooms are so nice!

My girlfriend an I wanted a quick getaway so we took a day in the middle of the week to spend at this B&B. It was perfect. The furniture was beautiful, the food was excellent, the bed was great, and there is a wonderful common area. We were given lots of information and advice on what to do in the area and managed to visit a winery and a brewery via bike.

We had a four course, candlelit breakfast with locally sourced foods that was delicious. Not only did we eat well, but we also learned about the local agriculture.

If you're looking for a quick getaway, this is just the thing.

Green Features: The locally sourced food really appealed to me. We actually traveled down the road to visit a CSA that recently opened up. I'd advise people to visit throughout the year to taste the different things that are in season.
