Frenchtown is very small but has ample dining opportunities. This old mansion with grand columns in the front just around the corner from the center of town and offers very nicely decorated and clean dining areas along with a basement Ratskeller which reportedly gets crowded later in the evening and has live music on weekends. We sat at the bar and ordered some moderately priced wine Red @ $8.90 and White @ $5.90 and both were hits! Their menu has some eclectic/imaginative entrees and for lunch we had their Truffle Fries (a MUST eat) and Wings (unusually different and absolutely tasty). We were just in for a light lunch and so didn't get into the rest of the menu but based on the apps we had we shall return for a full dinner. BTW Dylan was fantastic and informative. Thanks.

We went to the National Hotel in Frenchtown for the first time this Sunday afternoon. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of beers. The interior of this place is awesome. There were 2 other people there when we arrived around 4:30. Before we left, 2 other people had arrived and sat at the bar also. We ordered the Mediterranean Plate. Everything on it was very tasty. Unfortunately the bartender was not very good. With only 5 people at the bar, she should not have forgotten anything but she forgot a lady's beer and she forgot that we were waiting for our check. I'll go back but I'll hope for a different bartender!

Thank you for your feedback. In fact, that was that particular bartender's last day at The National Hotel. Clearly, as much as we pride ourselves on the level of excellence of our food and drinks, service is at the core of a customer's experience, and unfortunately, this individual simply wasn't focused on our patrons. We hope that you will return, as you mentioned in your review, and that we will exceed your expectations. Again, thank you for letting us know your concerns.

Another nice and cozy restaurant and bar with in a very old building with very much charm. It is also in a very nice small town and very close to the Delaware River.

We recently visited Frenchtown National Hotel & were pleasantly surprised. Last time we were there we did not have a good experience. But the manager tried to make up for it this time. Also, we had a different server who was very helpful & charming. We always order the fish & chips which I liken to Nancy's in Oak BUff, Martha's Vineyard, where Obama goes for vacation every year. Also, their french fries or mashed potatoes are to die for. If you get a chance stop by. The prices are decent and the food is served in a lovely atmosphere.
