Description: The Shaker has had a long and rich history. For about 20 years, the Shaker has been synonymous with a vibrant atmosphere and great food. In January 2010, the Shaker was purchased by Charles Dempsey. Charles continues to enrich the Shaker vision and follow in the path of the Shaker legacy.Even though the ownership has changed the shaker aims to do even better. We now accept credit cards, have extended hours, and have sourced our produce from a local farms for even greater quality food at the same low prices.Look for in 2011: We're now open Saturdays for Breakfast (8-12). We'll also be introducing new menu items after they're perfected in our test kitchen (which happens to be the Dempsey household!).Thank you for your interested in the Shaker :)-- Charles Dempsey & family Hours of OperationMonday - 7am - 3pmTuesday - 7am - 3pmWednesday - 7am-3pmThursday - 7am - 3pmFriday - 7am - 9:pmFriday (Dinner) - 5pm - 9pmSaturday -8:am-12:00pmSunday - 8am - 1pm

“Delightful Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

While visiting family and friends in Flemington, we stopped at the Shaker Cafe for a late brunch on Sunday. The food was good. The restaurant was busy but we didn't wait. The service was quick and the owners are delightful. We noticed by behavior that many of the customers were Sunday regulars and were addressed by name as if they were long-time friends. Kudos to the new owners. Food was good, service was great and we felt most welcome. Looking forward to trying their Friday night menu and fun night.

“Bacon crispy, eggs good, service SLOW”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

The Shaker is a Flemington icon. Crowded on weekends but the food is pretty good. The place is very casual and comfortable - the kind of place where you get up and get your own coffee refill.
Don't count on getting out very quick. You can linger over breakfast since the service is anything but quick.
Try it, you will like the food and the atmosphere. (and the bacon)

“Best Salad's In Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012

I stopped in to Shaker for lunch. I am very health focused and looked and the salad and wrap menu. I settled on the COS Salad - It is a salad with several types of meat, eggs and veggies. It was huge, fresh and very tasty. Service was great, staff was beyond friendly!

“Amazing Dinner!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

I stumbled on to Shaker Cafe when I was trying to find a great place for Dinner, Flemington does not have a ton of independent choices. We ate dinner the only night that Shaker serves dinner, Friday evening. The food was amazing! The mexican food and even the regualr buffalo chicken wrap was unbelievable. Service was great and friendly....I found a new relaible restuarnt in town!

“NYC quality in NJ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

I commute from Manhattan, NY to Flemington, NJ every day for work and my office eats out for lunch all the time. You will find me and all my colleagues at Shaker cafe at least 3-4 days a week. it so refreshing to find a family run cafe in NJ that has the same standards of food and service as those i frequent in NYC. the menu is great, but the specials are where its at....
I never thought i'd say this... but i prefer the reuben sandwich at shaker cafe over the reuben at Katz deli in the City.
