We went with the Courtyard Ewing-Hopewell because of it's location and great proximity to our wedding reception. They provided a free shuttle from our reception venue to the hotel (before and after the reception). The rooms were $129 a night with breakfast...this seemed a bit high to me considering we were booking a block of rooms, but we did it anyway.

There were some good and not-so-good things about this hotel.

The "Goods"'
- The hotel was just renovated earlier this year. It has a very modern lobby and bar area. This was great when we came back after the reception was over...we were able to still get drinks and hang out together. It had a nice vibe, very modern and clean.

- Excellent location, right off of I-95 (easy to get to Philadelphia and to get to the NJ turnpike).

- Breakfast the morning after was a nice touch. We didn't really know what to expect since we included this with our guests' reservations. But this breakfast was in a private room the next morning...the food wasn't overly fancy, but it was clean and there was plenty of it. We liked that it was private so it allowed our guests to hang out a bit more before saying goodbye.

The "Not-so-goods"

- Reservations: we had to make reservations for some of our guests who came from out of the country and/or could not speak English. My husband booked a few rooms under the guests names. The front desk charged his card twice multiple times (because the Marriott charges when you first make the reservation). This happened to two other guests as well. Also, when my husband called back Susan (the reservations manager) multiple times to get this cleared up, she never returned his calls. When I dealt with Susan for other issues, she sometimes returned my calls/e-mails and sometimes not. It was definitely not consistent.

- Guests who were booking under an employee/family/business discount could not be counted towards our total number of rooms booked.

- Our room for the night of the wedding WAS upgraded to a suite, but it was still a rather simple room. Nothing over-the-top to "wow" you.

We had stayed in Manhattan for a couple of days before coming to this property for a wedding in nearby New Hope, PA. My husband commented immediately on how much more he liked this fresh, clean looking hotel. It has a modern look, which he likes. The staff was the other thing that really made this property shine. They were both friendly and very helpful, answering question, giving directions and checking on us after we went to our room to make sure everything was ok. A small Bistro in the middle of the lobby allowed guests to purchase breakfast, lunch and a light dinner(soup, sandwiches etc.), as well as evening cocktails. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Great place to stay if you want to get away for the weekend to a quaint town such as nearby New Hope,PA or just take in the Fall colors.

The main staff are very nice however if you plan on using this hotel for guests to stay for a wedding beware. Susan is the head of events and is terrible! However I think she is getting fired but just in case don't work with her. Ask for the general manager.

I stay at a lot of hotels and this one tops my list. Stayed with wife and two sons (19 months and 2 months). Loved the size of the room, how clean the entire hotel was, free breakfast, friendly staff and relaxing pool.

Stayed here for two nights as my son was a participant in the annual Tri-State Lacrosse Tournament which books up most motels rooms in a 20 mile radius of Mercerville. The staff at the Courtyard were excellent and friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making sure everything was all right. Stayed on the fifth floor overlooking the Trenton airport and, despite being located near the ice machine and elevator, the room was very quiet. The room was spacious (King Bed and very comfortable sofa bed) and the bathroom up to date and spotless. Internet is free and fast. Hotel location is excellent being right off the interstate exit so that you could venture either into the town of Ewing or travel down one exit on the Interstate for excellent dining opportunities. Had no problems whatsoever.
