I'm a night owl who doesn't like to cook, but in New Jersey that's A-OK! Being the home to the most diner per square mile and probably the most 24hr. restaurants, separating yourself from the pack in New Jersey is a difficult proposition, but the New Ewing Diner does it in style.
It was remodeled to have a very 50's outside, and it looks attractive. Inside is attractive, but nothing to write home about. The parking lot is a little strange, with about 6 spots having a special entrance, but you'd have a hard time finding a bad spot.
They have a typical diner menu with WAY too many options if you don't have an idea already what you want to eat, and it boasts 64 different types of 5 egg omelettes. The one I usually order is #26, Pete's Omelette that has mushrooms, spinach, feta cheese, sausage, bacon, and pepperoni. It's tasty, they cook it fast, and they cook it right. Portions are really big, too!
Service is generally good to very good, but nothing to write home about, with coffee and refills plentiful. I usually come in with a group of 10 and they're able to handle us immediately without skipping a beat. Price is just right, maybe even on the cheap side, for the amount of food you get.
