If you absolutely need to stay next to the airport for one night, this hotel would be fine. Room was spacious and just enough clean. Front desk staff was not great, food was good, parking is convenient (10$/day), business center costs 0.50$/min, no frills in room (no make-up mirror, no safe nor bathrobe). Nothing in the area to do, except for one big shopping center and very few restaurants. If you need to get to downtown NY, you have a free shuttle service till the train station, then you have to get a 15$ one way ticket to get to Penn station. Might as well stay in NY if you want to go there!

Forget about the standard dreary airport hotels. Hilton must have amazing training because everyone - from the front desk people to the airport shuttle drivers - is amazingly professional and makes staying at the Hilton a true refuge. They remember who you are, welcome you by name, strive for an excellence that is rarely seen and sincerely ask if there is anything they can do better. My answer - not one thing!

We stayed overnight at this hotel recently because of its proximity to Newark Airport.

PROS: The airport is about five minutes away, but I didn't hear any planes. They only charge $10 for guests to park and they have a large parking lot behind the hotel. The room was spacious enough, plenty of pillows, Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries provided, great water pressure in the shower, bottled water and candy provided. There is a fitness room and an indoor pool, neither of which we saw or used.

CONS: The reception staff were a little surly.

A great dining suggestion would be the Brownstone Diner and Pancake Factory (about 12 miles away). Their pancakes were amazing and the prices were incredibly reasonable.

My Husband and I stayed at this hotel before flying out of Newark Liberty on a park and fly basis. We had a lovely room, Jr Suite that had Crabtree and Evelyn Spa emenities provided. The room was very comfortable and had a nice view of the airport.
Do yourself a favor and plan to go out to eat, do not pay the high prices for the restaurant there. It was absolutely ridiculous what they were asking for meals and drinks at the hotel. I do not mind splurging but the prices at this hotel we absolutly ridiculous. I am thining they get business travelers to eat there because their companies are picking up the tab but for the leisure traveler go outside the hotel. There are many wonderful restaurants with great food in this area and places like Ruby Tuesday which is only a five minute drive away. Use a navigator or ask at the desk. They will give you a print out of near by places to eat and drink. We got a diet coke and a beer at the lounge and it was 12.00 plus tip cost us 15.00 just for a drink and I got a vitamin water in the gift shop that cost me 3.00! So come prepared. The room and bed were all great and I would stay there again for sure but bring my own drinks, they have a refigerator in the room.
The shuttle runs every 20 minutes 24 hours which was very nice as well.

We booked thru hotwire at an excellent bargain rate. Hotel is superb:

* great courteous, friendly staff
* restaurant is pretty good and we had our breakfast there. Price is reasonable and fair.
* excellent room, very clean
* 10 bucks for parking

We stayed here instead of staying in NY. Drove to NY and parked at NY and came back to NY.

The hotel is convenient for somebody wanting to take a early flight out of Newark. Othewise, not a very convenient location, with no shops or restaurants in the vicinity. But then again, who would be brave enough to venture out in Newark?

My large family group stayed at the Hilton Newark. We purchased rooms through Hotwire. I was hoping for the Hilton Newark Penn Station but was given this hotel. There was nothing wrong but since trying to save a little money by not staying in NY, we wanted to be close to Penn Station.

The staff was wonderful, extremely accommodating. Prices in the restaurant were pricey. The hotel is not within walking distance to any food establishments. They will provide you with menus of delivery services but again they are pricey. We ordered from Dominos, they deliver.

Getting Around: Do not take the NJ Transit. We had 11 in out group and it was not affordable $30 a day per person. We took the PATH into town everyday after we tried the train the first day. The path will drop you off at several nice stops in NYC, less than $3 per person a day. The hard part was taking the shuttle to the airport, getting on the bus to Penn Station, catching the PATH. If you are use to jumping in a car and going then you will feel out of sorts but we got use to it.

Rooms: We had 3 rooms, all were in tip top shape. Everyone was very friendly at the hotel and accommodating.

DO NOT RENT FROM U-SAVE-THEY WILL TRY TO CHARGE YOU FOR PARKING THEIR CAR ON THE HOTEL LOT. IF YOU DO, IT IS BEST TO RENT FOR THE DAY AND TURN IN. EVEN THEN THEY TRIED TO CHARGE US FOR PARKING AFTER WE RETURNED THE CAR.
