“Good Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

We stayed there for one night. We were traveling to New York City and needed a place to stay overnight before we drove into the city. The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff was very nice. Since the regular parking lot was full we were upgraded to the parking deck for free. The beds were comfortable.

All staff are cordial and accommodating - attended to special food requests and went out of their way to make our corporate guests happy. Food was excellent and the new chef definitely counters the reputation of "hotel food". Enjoyed the hospitality of not only management but all who were part of our stay and event. Would recommend the location for ease of travel as well as social environment. Definitely a "go to" hotel for the future.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from elevators. Renovations are taking place (Oct 2012) but pending rooms are ni...

We drove from Portland, Me to Newark - destination - Hilton Hotel. Our last 15 miles took about 90 minutes. So we arrived so tired.
The lobby is very nice and modern. Harrison, the Bell Captain greets us with a warm smile.
He takes all our bags.

My sister is a Diamond Hilton Honors member. She checks in and is assigned two rooms on the 12th floor. The 12th floor is an "Honors" floor. It should be the best rooms for their best customers.

Well it's not - the rooms are old and shabby. The whole floor is that way. Hilton - wake up - this is not how to take care of your valued customers.

I tell Harrison of our circumstance. He goes to Priscilla and they immediately take care of us. We are now on the 8th floor where the rooms have been renovated. The rooms are very nice.
Pretty thoughtful - 100% better. Thank you Priscilla.
Only problem - our bathroom had mold in the shower and the walls were dirty.
That's sad. But we were only staying a night, so I didn't complain.

Harrison - a gem for the Hilton. It was an honor meeting him and I am appreciative that he took care of the situation immediately. Later, he sent us off to the best restaurant ever - Spanish Tavern.

Other than the bad housekeeping, this hotel would be wonderful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has been renovated. It'll make all the difference.

Stayed for a quick overnight back in May. The hotel is a short shuttle ride from the airport (thank you to Agnes, our wonderful shuttle driver) and you are welcomed by friendly staff on arrival. The rooms were nice refurbished, but even though there was a cut-out for a minibar, there was none. Not to worry, as I never use them anyway. Breakfast in 'The Newarker' was good and we received excellent service from our server, Maria. All in all, had a good stay and will be back next time I'm in the area.

My husband and I booked a one night stay to be nearby Cape Liberty where we would be departing from for our seven night Bermuda cruise. At check-in we received a complimentary upgrade to a one bedroom suite. The suite while a bit dated was very clean and comfortable. Check-in was efficient and the staff was very efficient. We did have to contact the front desk for assistance with wi-fi and there was no answer so we called room service and asked them to get someone from the front desk to pick up the phone. The front desk called us and explained they were short-staffed and had a large number of guests at check-in. A continental breakfast was complimentary for Diamond HH members and four an additional $4.00 the full buffet could be added. Breakfast was wonderful and our waiter was very attentive. Self parking in an adjacent lot was $21.00 per day. This location is approximately 30 minutes from Cape Liberty and while across from the airport, relatively quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here and/or recommend to others.

Room Tip: pay the extra fou bucks for the full breakfast

Very friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms. Nice clean crisp sheets. Modern decor and lots of paid parking. Very close to EWR, 10 mins. If you have elite status they will provide a voucher for use at Starbucks counter which is useful if you have an early departure before the restaurant opens.

Easy in/out near Newark Airport if you have very early flight and you don't live right near by, or if you are laying over. Adjacent inexpensive long term parking with shuttle to airport (via the monorail).
