My husband and I stayed for one evening due to an early flight out of Newark airport The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were very nice on check in and check out. They have a courtesy van drop off and pick up is at P4, so you do have to use the airport tram system to get to your terminal. We used the park & fly plan which was a very good deal.

We stayed in a double room for 1 night in September 2013. The room was comfortable and a good size. There was very little noise from outside. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room.This hotel is particularly suitable if you arrive at Newark airport and want to visit the Jersey Gardens outlet mall. There is a free shuttle from airport to hotel. There is also a shuttle bus from the airport to the mall which was reasonably priced. Ask for a discount booklet for the mall from the hotel reception. The mall is 5 to 10 mins walk from the hotel and can be reached easily by foot. The hotel has a small shop and a breakfast bar/restaurant, but we ate at the nearby IHop. There is also a Ruby Tuesday very nearby, plus other options in the mall.

Knowing the courtyard hotel for many years I've been pleasantly surprised to see this hotel to be slightly different from what I remembered, both in decor and rooms size. The close location to the airport and the free shuttle makes is perfect for any airport related stay. The walking distance to the jersey gardens mall serves the shopping enthusiasm of everyone, however, note that this is pretty much the only thing to do around. Furthermore and what really made me write this review is that each member of the staff that we met, mostly at the reception desk, were simply great. Not only professional and ready to answer and address anything, but doing it all with a smile and an air of friendly approach giving me the feeling of being welcome.

Stayed here for two different blocks of time as part of the same holiday. We were here two years ago and had a lot of fun. This time wasn't as good. The check in process for the first part appeared to take longer than usual. The tv wasn't working correctly and couldn't be fixed by engineer. Also asking for extra pillows seemed a chore. The second stay was much better, with a bigger and better room. The shuttle drivers are very helpful and did go the extra mile to help. Reception staff generally polite. Most of the housekeeping staff were polite.

The hotel is nice and is located close to an outlet shopping mall. However you really need a car to get about.

Tip for non car guests: when going to New York City avoid travelling via Newark airport as the railway ticket is extortionate as you have to use the "airtrain". Instead take NJ Transit bus from mall or take local bus to nearby Elizabeth then train to Penn Station.

I have stayed here a few times in the past decade...every stay has been a good experience. Not a fan of the hotel staff...the check in/front desk can be cold and unattentive...I called downstairs several times for local information and no response. Had to go downstairs and inquire at the front desk in person. The cook at the grill lacks hospitality and personality. My friends and I walked to IHOP after our interaction with the grill cook. He acted as if it was a bother that we would make him actually work...he is more of a "TOKEN" kitchen employee...paid for nothing. The van drivers are supreme...worth tipping double!!! Safe and timely drivers.

Room Tip: Do not forget to check out the Outlet Mall...so sad that when I inquired as where and what to do this was not mentioned. I discovered upon leaving that the mall is only 2 blocks away...and shopping is tax free in Jersey.
