OK, I just have to spread the news: this hotel is really good for an airport hotel.

What I really liked:

1. Our room was very sound proof. On our side of the hotel hallway, we overlooked a residential area, and we did not see or hear airplanes.
2. We had dinner and lunch at the bar/restaurant, and the food/ambiance was good. Check out the bathrooms just outside the restaurant, meeting room areas, they are fantastic: super modern.
3. After check-in, we discovered the carpet in our room was soaking wet. We called the front desk and they were very quick to apologize and ask us our preference for having the problem fixed or moving to another room. We asked to move and were glad we did, the new room was more spacious and smelled super fresh (compared to the one we vacated). The desk staff came up to us very quickly after we called to personally hand us the new room keys and apologized again.
4. The hotel lobby, library, business center and restaurant/bar areas are very stylish and inviting.

Dislikes: None.

Room Tip: Chose the side that overlooks the residential area, and we did not see or hear airplanes. Very soun...

We didn't know where to go and decided on this Marriott ! It is a beautiful hotel, comfortable and artistically spacious ! We had two rooms for 4 nights! Great customer service and even greater staff on hand around the clock. I would go back and stay there another 4 plus days !

United Airlines missed our connecting flight to Israel. Then, they left our group of 12 people stranded at the airport at midnight after promising to put us up in a hotel. After making a few calls from the airport, we found the Renaissance Hotel. They picked us up at the airport and were able to accommodate our entire group at a reasonable room rate. The hotel was modern and well maintained. The bedding and pillows were very comfortable. Because we had to wait 24 hours for the next flight, they gave us a 2:00 p.m. late checkout. After that, we hung out in the spacious and comfortable lobby and restaurant areas. We ate breakfast and lunch there. Both were very good. Unlike the folks at United, the hotel personnel were friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for one night before an early morning flight. The front desk staff was courteous and professional. The lobby is clean and inviting. I used a free night certificate for a standard room and because of my elite status was upgraded to a club level room. The room was spacious, very clean and well equipped. The bathroom was clean with plenty of towels. The lounge was closed for the holiday weekend so I was given a certificate for the restaurant on site. I did find it odd that the lounge did not open up that Sunday evening as most other Marriott properties I have stayed at opened the Sunday evening of a holiday weekend so long as Monday was not the holiday. The shuttle to the airport in the morning was hassle free and got me to the terminal in no time. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay in the vicinity of Newark Airport.

We stayed here in May which was organised by Royal Caribbean cruise as we were sailing the following day and although we were there for 1 night the staff were very helpful especially the bar staff and the bar food was fantastic and not too expensive. The shuttle also was first class.this was a great start to our holidays.

We stayed at the Renaissance Newark Airport on Sat 13th July. We missed our connection and booked at the last minute. We were a party of 5 and it was late so we decided to take a taxi rather than wait for the hotel shuttle. The taxi driver was obnoxious and missed the exit from the highway to the hotel so it turned a 5 min cab drive into a 15 min journey. Just as a sidenote this is the second time we have had a taxi miss the exit for the hotels on Spring Street and it is a very long detour so beware! The hotel itself was great. It has a very attractive lobby and bar area. Our check-in was easy and they managed to accommodate us with adjoining rooms and get a rollaway bed up to our room very quickly. The beds and pillows were so comfortable and there was very little noise for an airport hotel. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and this was pretty good although I thought there could have been an egg station for a hotel of this size and class and also the amount being charged for breakfast. We used the indoor pool in the morning which was very quiet and refreshing. The hotel shuttle back to the airport was good and runs every 15mins unlike most of the other hotels which run every 30mins. Overall a very comfortable hotel and would use again for a layover.

The shuttle runs from the P4 AirTrain stop on a regular basis. No problems there.

The hotel is a bit older and looks like its been through several rehabs. Overall its pleasant on the border of trying to be hip.

Front desk staff was nice and accommodated my request for an end of hall (quiet) room. Beds were comfortable, the HVAC could be left on "FAN HIGH" which is a huge benefit for sound.

Bathroom was a bit small but functional. Good water pressure and the shower head was WAY up high.

Only issue I came across was an employee smoking in the stairwell right next to my room. This stunk up the ENTIRE hallway. I called downstairs but never heard back. The smell lingered for a few hours.

Hallways were very hot, but the rooms cooled down just fine. Concierge lounge was pleasant.

Overall a fine stay.

Room Tip: 10th floor is the top.
