In Newark for business. Usually stay at the Marriott but had to change plans this time. Nice room, comfy bed, bIg tv, clean bathroom, good restaurant, close to airport. Would stay here again. Had the roast beef melt at the bar. very tasty.

Bus service from airport was very prompt which is always a plus. Hotel is very clean, modern. Beds are very comfortable but the walls are thin. I heard the guy next door's every move, cough, hack, etc. Bathroom had one issue with shower handle breaking off but that happens. Efficient front desk staff. Would stay again.

This hotel is very very beautiful. The beds are very comfortable. HOWEVER, it lacks when it comes to customer service and simple accommodations. The location sucks! You will get lost coming to and from this location....likely stuck in the perimeter drive around the airport. You hear highway traffic and planes coming and going all night. They have a refrigerator in the room, but no microwave. And they absolutely will not accommodate for their short falls....like allowing food to be warmed up by restaurant. You are literally stuck in the middle of nowhere and no stores are anywhere to be found. So you are stuck eating at their expensive restaurant. We decided to ask for the closest grocery store and we found it, but the area isn't a very nice or safe one, so be careful. Wow, what a visit! Never again. I'm so disappointed with Matriott. Oh I forgot to mention the mildew smell in our room.

After a horrendous flight delay from Heathrow courtesy of United Airlines, (and a subsequent re-route on Virgin Atlantic) we ended up with a very brief stay at this property. I wish I could say that UA helped us book this hotel, but it was the cheapest Marriott property I could find with short notice from Marriott reservations (while I shouted down my mobile phone, in the middle of sorting out new flights).

The lobby was gorgeous – I wish we had more time to look around.

A cab from the airport was 24-dollars plus tip (we landed just before midnight), which seemed very high for such a short journey.

We were a little disappointed that room service in the hotel was not 24-hour, as the pizza / sub place recommended by the slightly vapid check-in lady was just terrible, and they took over an hour to deliver poorly microwaved food.

It was also a little sad that the Elite lounge was not opened earlier, as there was no early-morning coffee available in the lobby. The hotel was very popular with flight crews.

The room was fine and the bed was comfortable (although considering the high rate and my Elite status, it seemed a little small). The shower was powerful. I wish we were in the room a little longer.

We used the free shuttle bus service in the morning, although it does fill up fast – it took about 10 minutes to get to the airport.

If I were ever stranded again at Newark airport, I would return. It looked like it would make a good conference venue.

Room Tip: Try to check-in before midnight, as while the night staff are friendly, they are in need of training...

Stayed 2 nights before heading into the NYC for the weekend. Since we came in from Japan we needed a place to shake off the jet lag. It was easy to do, as it was comfortable, clean, roomy, with very accommodating and kind service--a great value. The concierge lounge is slightly above par than other Renaissance and Marriott properties we've been to in the States.
Had a light lunch at the bar/restaurant and the food was fresh-prepared and delicious. We'll always consider this hotel as our first choice for a stopover in and out of EWR.

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times visiting family. Never had any problems with them. Very comfortable beds clean rooms. Even while renovations were being made last year they didnt miss a beat. Close to airport but you never hear airport noise.

will stay at this hotel as long as they keep it up.

Stayed at the Renaissance Newark Airport the night before NYU move-in day. Had an SUV loaded down with freshman gear, so didn't want to park in a garage in the city. Hotel has an attended parking lot which made us feel much more secure about leaving everything in the car. This was our second stay at this hotel - last was in April 2011 in the midst of their renovation. Renovation is complete and hotel looks fabulous! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Noticed several other students staying at the property who had flown in and taken the shuttle. Hotel is ten minutes away from Greenwich Village (thru the Holland Tunnel...assuming of course, no traffic!)
