“An elegant amusement park”
Reviewed July 29, 2007

There is a reason why Storybook Land has been around for over 50 years. It is a classy, clean, wonderful place to take your 1 -to- 7 year old children to. I just went back there for the 8th time with my 5 and 8 year old boys. The 8 year old wanted to go!!!! It is a happy place.
There is no sensory overload. It is a quiet, almost meditative place with soft music wafting through the beautiful flowery paths and gardens. Even on a sunny hot day it is kept cool under a canopy of hunreds of trees. It is as clean as can be...the bathrooms always smell crisp ..and there isn't any paper laying aorund. The food prices are totally realistic...you won't be spending 15 dollars for three ice cream cones here!!! (more like 6 bucks and change). The rides are cute and just right for younger kids. There is a roller coaster and a tilt-a-whirl for older kids...not much else. This is really about the little ones. They have recently added a little spray ground area...its adorable, but not really being used by anyone. Most people know this is not a place for water amusements.
I really love Storybook Land..I felt a little sentimental leaving the other day...my children are getting too old for it! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the place.....

“A great value!”
Reviewed June 13, 2007

I took my three year old son to Storybook Land June 2007. This is a terrific day trip! The poster who said it is expensive clearly hasn't
been to Great Adventure or Sesame Place both of which cost about $200.00 for one day for a family of five and that is with coupons. That doesn't include parking fees either. Storybook Land is a very reasonable $18.95 per person. That includes all of your rides and attractions and there is FREE parking. All throughout the park you never felt as if you were being gouged on the price of anything you purchased. Even the t-shirt in the souvenir stand was only $10.95 and
sweatshirts were $21.95. Again, everything was very reasonable. The park is IMMACULATE! That is helped by the cute garbage cans that are shaped like animals. The kids love to throw away their trash in the pandas or elephants mouth. Some garbage cans even talk. The rides are
all kiddie rides with your faster ones being a tilt-a-whirl and roller coaster. Most of the rides are pretty mild and perfect for the younger set. They are building a sprayground which will have misters and shooting water for the kids to splash around in but it wasn't finished yet while we were there. The whole premise of the park, of course, is classic stories. The little exhibits with mechanical characters acting out the stories are very cute. Be warned
though that they don't sugarcoat the fairy tales. When the big, bad wolf said, "I have big teeth as they are better to eat you with my dear" my son did get frightened. He recovered nicely however watching
for the mouse to run up Hickory, Dickory Dock. A must see is the Alice in Wonderland exhibit, it was my personal favorite. The rides are all in great shape and as a previous poster said, they are manned
by senior citizens who obviously like working around children. They do allow you to bring in your own food for a picnic and have a picnic
area for your group. There is a refreshing lack of commercialism in this park without a noticeable absence of advertisements. The park is
easy to reach only being about 2 miles off exit 37 of the Garden State Parkway. Overall an excellent value for the price and a great day trip.

Storybook land is THE place to take young children for a day of complete family fun. Christmas time at storybook land is probably the best holiday destination you can take your family.

“One of the best day trips for young kids NJ has to offer !!”

One of the best day trips for young kids NJ has to offer !!

We have been visiting here for five years now and it is sad that this may have been our last visit as our kids are now getting older. The park is SPOTLESS and the staff takes great pride in making your day fun, safe and memorable. Pack a cooler and enjoy yourself in the shaded fpicnic area. The park is almost all shaded by huge mature trees, it is beautifully landscaped and the bathrooms are SUPER CLEAN. If your kids are between 2 and 7, this is a perfect day trip you will remember for a life time. Take your camera and enjoy.

“Worth the trip”
Reviewed August 19, 2006

I visited Storybookland as a kid 35 years ago, and today took my 14 month old son for a visit. If you're tired of dirty amusement parks, rude employees, and high prices on everything, take your toddlers here. We had a wonderful time! These people try hard to keep everything freshly painted, and clean, and it shows. And, everything mechanical actually works! Worth the trip. Hats off to the owners of this lovely park!
