The tour left a little to be desired and you don't get to see much, but the wines are wonderful. A wide variety for every type of wine lover, and all are very flavorful. It's a beautiful site, and definitely something to check out. A definitely try their blueberry champagne!

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding here and we loved everything. During the tour, we were acknowledged with a celebratory toast which we both were not expecting but appreciated immensely. Our room was beautiful, clean and relaxing. We went to the Gourmet Restaurant for both dinner and brunch and highly recommend it for the food, price and general feel of romantic serenity. Loved the touch of flowers at out table to make it extra special! Will definitely return again!!

We had a travelzoo voucher that was good for lunch at Joseph's restaurant including a salad and a sandwich, and a tour and wine tasting. Be sure to reserve the restaurant and also the tour, because tours are only offered on the hour and they fill up. We had the last tour of the day and it was full. I don't think they would have let us on the tour if we didn't have a reservation.
Joseph's Restaurant was very pleasant. Salads ranged from $5 - $9, with an additional $2 to add chicken. The salads were large for side salads, but not large enough to fill you as an entree. Sandwiches and burgers were in $9 -$12 range. We both had the pub burger. It was a large, flame-broiled burger on a fluffy broche roll, and served with delicious fries which appeared to be sprinkled with parmesan cheese. We really enjoyed our lunch, but service was extremely slow, even though the restaurant was pretty empty. We thought we'd have a lot of time between our lunch and our tour to explore on our own, but we just made it to the tour on time. The restaurant is across the street & down a little way from the winery.
When we walked into the winery for the tour, we encountered a line of people getting their tour tickets. The woman at the front desk was anything but welcoming. Other people on our tour commented about what a bad first impression she gave of the winery. The tour costs $5 per person. For an additional $3 you can get a souvenir wine glass that you use for your wine tasting, and then take home with you. The tour was informative. I really enjoyed hearing the history of the winery. We visited about 4 "rooms" in the winery, only 1 of which was air-conditioned. It was quite warm. The tasting room at the end had a few stools, but most of us were standing. If there was something we particularly wanted to taste, they tried to accommodate this. We ended up tasting 8 wines.
If you don't buy the glass, you are provided with plastic cups for tasting. The glass costs $4.99 in the gift shop, so if you think you may want a glass, be sure to get the glass with the tour. As other reviewers have noted, there is no possibility of tasting wine in the gift shop, the only way to taste is on the tour.
Before the tour starts just off the lobby, there is an interesting display of glasses, but the room is dark and many of the display cases are not lit, so you really can't see the glasses. Only a few of the glasses have descriptions of what they are. This would have been more interesting if it were better lit.
Overall, this was a great value. It was an opportunity to visit Renault Winery and Josephs' Restaurant, which is something we've talked about doing for quite some time. The travelzoo voucher gave us the motivation to make the drive, and we are glad we did. I would not hesitate to go back again without a coupon.

Our guide was pleasant and informative. We learned a lot of history about the winery. It's the second oldest in the country. Great selection of wines to taste after the tour. You just have to speak up if you want to taste something and they will try to accommodate you. Get the glasses- it's worth it!

If you are looking to have a ton of fun, this place is unfortunately not the place to attend. If you want to taste the wine, the only way to do so is to take about a 45 minute tour of the winery, and at the end they let you try about 6 wines. Yes the wine was great, but after that, the only way to taste additional wines is to purchase it at the gift shop or go to Joseph's restaurant. If you are interested in purchasing a flight of wine or even a cheese platter, that is not an option.
We ate at Josephs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast and lunch were pretty good and reasonably priced, but the meat and seafood at dinner was only mediocre for the price you pay.
We purchased the midweek package which included the room, dinner credit, food credit, and complimentary beverages, all which were very easy to redeem.
The only staff member we found to be friendly was Mark the tour guide. Don't expect the front desk to greet you when you pass them or even go up to them to ask a question.
A member at the front desk told us the only other thing to do in the area is to visit a drive-in theater about 30 minutes away, so if you are unhappy with that option, prepare.
Would I say our one night stay and meals was worth the $500? Certainly not.
