“Worse than the horror movie we car here for!”

AMC Dine-In Theatres Menlo Park 12

We have been here at minimum 30 times. Every time we've come here, the service was worse than average. This time going around, we had very specific dietary needs which we explained to Marwa, our server. We simply requested that our fish would be blackened (not cooked in butter or anything else) and our vegetables to be steamed and we specifically explained how we can't have anything but olive oil. We also ordered a chicken caesar salad as an appetizer for which we asked for the chicken to be substituted for shrimp.

The salad came out with our dinner, which made the appetizer pointless. There was an additional charge of $3.00 for the shrimp, even though there was no chicken in the salad (Note that all restaurants usually tell you if there is an extra charge for something, let alone for substituting chicken for shrimp).

When they brought out the dishes, the vegetables were cooked in butter!!! We brought it to our waitress attention and she argued with us about how it was cooked. After 30 minutes, right after we finished our meals, while we were eating our fruit salad they brought us a bowl of broccoli which was steamed, however, it was too late.

If you have dietary needs or restrictions or whether you're looking for a healthy meal, this is def not the place to go. No one listens or shows any interest in caring.
After our multiple trips here, this is the last meal we would ever get at this movie theatre, let alone coming here just for a movie costing $17.50 each!

It is quite surprising to see this attraction being #1 for Edison! Very surprising, and very disappointing.

Surrounded by people with zero sense of public courtesy or polite behavior makes the overpriced food and drinks even more offensive. Plan to view your movie in the glow of smart phones and very public one-way conversations where every fourth word is "like" or "you know." The staff is attentive but can not ameliorate the gutteral atmosphere. It was a $150 night for my family of four and I had a $40 gift certificate, only two of us had drinks and none of us ate dinner. Is it any wonder why credit card delinquencies are so hight? Stay home.

Their is 2 types of seating: Fork & Screen like reguler seats but more modern, Cinema Suites like a reclining chair in your living room. Press a button and some one comes to your seat to take your order. Their is also a full service bar out front if your waiting for your movie.

To my knowledge there aren't many dine-in theaters throughout the US.. So, if u happen to come from a state that doesn't have one or if you've never been to one period.. This will be a life altering experience. Whether you do the fork and screen or the cinema suites(highly recommended)option. You are in for a treat. This is a MUST DO!

Why didn't someone think of this sooner? A movie theater, bar and restaurant all in one! The theater is clean, the seats are SO comfortable and the food is great. And it's worth mentioning again that there's a BAR!! Fantastic experience :)
