I was in from out of state and dined alone. It was very hard to find something to order for just one person. Each entrée serves 2-3 people or more. That being said, I had an expensive FEAST. The matzoh ball soup was very satisfying and my egg, ham, & cheese sandwich was mouthwatering. I would come back on future trips to NJ with company to help me eat it all. The service was great and the restaurant was clean.

Still the best deli around for huge portions and delicious food. 13 oz sandwiches are enough for two and the 26 oz will feed four. Sides are equally large and will satisfy everyone. Huge menu to choose from and the pickle bar is a great way to start the meal (great health food salad there also). Don't forget the desserts. They also do take out which is a big plus during the busy times. So many choices on the menu and though it seems the prices are higher the portion size make them affordable.

Deli overload of the BEST kind. If you like pastrami....no, if you LOVE pastrami, this is the place to go. The portions are gigantic (I always split it with a friend or family member, and even with that, there's always some left over to take home), and the meat is simply perfect. Harold's supplies terrific Jewish rye bread, along with a stellar pickle bar. The best NYC-style deli that I've ever been to.

The food for the most part is good at least equal to other Jewish delis in NYC area. The problem is when you make something like latkes so big you will change the flavor and texture and lose overall persona. They came up with a gimmick to force the customer to spend more and it works (for them). Myself, I would rather have my own sandwich and not share and be forced to bag it. But as a novelty it's fun to see people split a soccer ball size matzoh ball. The kids at the next table barely put a dent in their dinners and the same for me.

What is said about the food being enormous is true. With a group of ladies, 4 of us could have shared a sandwich. Meat and bread were very tasty. We tried the giant cookies-chocolate chip and black and white, they weren't great-very dry.
