Being born and raised in NJ and now living in Colorado I really miss the good old DINER! On a recent trip we heading up Rt 130 and found the Americana. Stopped for lunch and was not disappointed. Great meal great service, just ask for Mario. Best waiter in the house. My wife love rice pudding and this was one of the best. I love a good pastrami sandwich and this was one of the best. Mario will even tell you what is fresh and what is not, "wait a minute I will get a fresh pot of coffe going!' You don't hear that much any more. Next trip back to NJ will be a must stop, even if I have to go out of my way.

It looks like a regular diner on the outside (and inside), but the menu has been tweaked with a euro-flair. Good when you want diner food with a change of pace. Went for a late breakfast yesterday, my terrific florentine omelet was accompanied by a side of toasted artisanal bread and a grilled tomato -- very good. Purists can still request breakfast potatoes instead, but it is nice to have a choice. Decaf coffee was made fresh, most diners will just serve what's been sitting in the pot for the last few hours. Also a large selection of breakfast sandwiches on the menu; looked interesting. Friendly staff with prompt service.

Most of their items are yummy. I had high expectations when I ordered the veggie burger. Unfortunately, it was just awful. It was tasteless mush molded in a thick patty. Order somethng else. They whould take that item off the menu.

They should take the veggie burger off the menu because it is awful. I was told it's made at the restaurant but it's not really a veggie patty. It's just mush molded into a thick patty that falls apart. I ended up scrapping that mush off the burger buns and just eating the buns with the toppings. Save yourself $11 and eat something else. I wish I had ordened tha Spanish omellet instread.

Been going here for years but lately the quality has gone down as the prices have skyrocketed. Love the little tricks, like eliminating the salad with dinner and increasing the prices at the same time. Had dinner on 10/12/12, food was bad, the diner has cheapened its quality and is now serving Clairmont diner quality food at twice to three times the price. Stay away.
