“Homemade like Grandma's”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014

The food is old family Italian. Homemade pasta and good selection of meats and fish. Small restaurant with seating for about 40, Bring you own and enjoy. Service is on the slow side but the food is worth waiting for. While you wait try a piece of Brooklyn pie it will help to take the edge off.

“Our local hometown "Smeraldo".”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2014

Like the many reviews before this one, this restaurant shows its' love for people and food. It shows clearly in their honesty and passion for everything they do here. Italian Villa is our local gem here in Plumsted Township and Cream Ridge NJ. We have been here on many occasions before this past Mother's Day and have tried many of their dishes between family members and all have been outstanding along with the service. Like any good restaurant, the food is made to order and homemade, so expect to take a little time for a delicious dinner or lunch. If you are in a hurry go to McDonald's! You will not be disapointed here. Love the homemade soups and pastas! Enjoy! Gerry and Clara/Plumsted

“A hidden gem which we're glad we found”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2014

We've been driving by this restaurant for years as it looks like a pizza place and they are a dime a dozen along this route. One night, we needed to find something to eat desperately and we stopped in thinking we'll just grab a pie and get back to what we needed to do. Found out that inside there is a real dining room! Small (maybe 16 tables) and quaint, we sat down to one of the best hometown dinners we've ever enjoyed.

Entrees come with soup (delicious!) or salad (hohum) and fresh bread. Each time we've been offered two kinds of bread. Plain rolls or rolls with olives, or bacon or some other ingredient. The special rolls are outstanding and they bring all you want. There in lies the danger of filling up on bread and having to take your meal home in a doggie bag.

All the entrees we've order have been really good too and I'm now addicted to their vodka sauce over, get this...Homemade pasta! The desserts look good too but we've been too full to have any. It's BYOB and so reasonable that it would be hard to duplicate the full meal at home for that price. It's now our go to place on the drive home.

The chicken soup is got to be the best I've ever had and I plan on stopping in just to pick some up to take home on cold nights.

“Wonderful food and great people!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014 via mobile

Italian Villa is by far our favorite hometown restaurant. We come often and have never been disappointed. Homemade pasta and desserts are fabulous. From pizza to sandwiches to dinners it is all wonderful. Add in the friendly family that owns it and their very outgoing wait staff and you will have a terrific meal.

“Old fashioned Italian Secret”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2014

Me and my family love this place, its family owned (which we love to support). Their homemade pasta is delicious, the staff is always friendly and courteous and the owners are very nice, hardworking people who take pride in what they do. Awesome desserts as well! If you are looking for a large fancy Italian place, this is probably not it but it is very cozy and you will definitely get a good home-cooked fresh meal.
