“What a gem in the "swamps of Jersey"”
Reviewed June 16, 2011

It's not really the swamps--but Springsteen comes to mind when you're in the Garden State... We're visiting relatives nearby and needed a place to hide, and this was an unexpected gem. Clean and tidy, great breakfast, great rooms, good size kitchen, nice pool, BBQ, laundry, business center.... what more do you need? Oh, a great price: yes, it's really reasonable, especially for this area, not too far from Princeton, Kingston, Plainsboro or Quakerbridge, and in a quiet country setting about 2 or so miles off the NJTP at exit 8A. We'll be b-a-a-a-c-c-c-c-k-k-k-k.....

I stayed in this hotel on a business trip to New Jersey. The rooms were very nice and clean and well serviced. Somehow, I wound up with a room meant for handicapped people. It may have been because the hotel was full. They served an excellent breakfast in the morning and beds were very comfortable.

The nearest station as I understand is the Princeton station.A round trip to New York City set me back by 30 USD. The taxi fare to the station was 45 $. Its near to New Jersey Newark airport. But you probably would spend another 50 to 60 $ on taxi each way.

So, if you are going to NJ near Cranbury or Jamesburg on work and you have a car, this place is for you.

If your intention is to use this as a base for sightseeing in New York City, I would advise you to think again. It takes an hour to go from here to Midtown Manhattan.

Room Tip: Nothing special. All the rooms I saw were decent.

Nothing hugely fancy here, but it's clean, the foldout bed is easy to set up, and breakfast is included. We often drive from Washington to NYC, and have taken to breaking up the trip by staying here overnight. We've had good luck getting excellent prices on Priceline, and we can stay overnight and have breakfast for barely more than parking overnight in NYC would cost.

Wanted to be close to friends in Cranbury, so this location was very convenient. The immediate area is generally lacking in amenities (restaurants) but by car, there are choices that are not far. The suite environment creates a comfortable social area. Good (free) wi fi. Had the need to call the desk for a smoke detector that was chirping due to low battery and the hotel was very responsive and fixed it within minutes.

We stayed over here on a drive from Boston to DC. We were pleased with the room, although the first room we were checked in to hadn't been cleaned. This was quickly resolved, though, after I informed the front desk. The wifi connection was decent in our room, the furnishings were fine, if a bit tired, and we slept well. Oddly enough, although the kitchenette was decently stocked with equipment, glasses, etc, there was no coffee maker! Must have been an oversight. The gym was tiny, and could use some new as well as additional equipment. Breakfast was ok (thankfully real ceramic plates and bowls were offered as well as plastic - not sure why so many people seemed to favor using the disposables, though), but kind of a madhouse as there were at least half a dozen families with small children trying to eat at the same time. Overall a decent stay, certainly worth the price.

We had dinner at the Zinna's Bistro across the street - good service and good food, but oddly enough they didn't serve wine on the premises - BYOB? Who wants to go down the street to a liquor store and buy a bottle of wine when all you want is one glass after a long day of driving?

Very clean and comfortable. Staff very nice. Two complaints, one serious. The fan on the heating unit is always on high and it is VERY loud - and no way to turn it down. It is either on or auto. No lower settings. Every time it comes on there is a huge whoosh and hum. Wakes you up all night long. I tried on (instead of auto) but that didn't help much. The other complaint is serious if you are concerned about the environment. They do not offer the "don't replace the towels" option that every other hotel in the world offers. The only way to stop them from replacing towels every day is to put the do not disturb sign on the door. Then you get NO housekeeping. That they would still replace towels everyday, even if the guest would rather they not do so, is unconscionable in this day and age. Otherwise, a good place. As others have mentioned, the complimentary breakfast is really quite nice.

Beautiful hotel, clean, nicely decorated, rooms have small kitchens and a great layout. Nice and clean. They accept pets which is a nice plus! The breakfast was excellent, lots of choices. There is even a small market area with drinks, snacks, batteries etc... During our trip the outside patio area was closed as well as the pool but it looked spacious and inviting, just an all around beautiful hotel.
