Just back from our 4th visit to the Rosemary Inn. Elaine and Theo have created a fantastic God touched piece of heaven. Each year we are surprised to find that it still looks as if we are the very first guests that have arrived. Sparkling clean, fresh and beautiful without being overdone. We love the beach room, and couldn't even imagine that our host could do any more to make us feel special and comfortable. Breakfasts are delicious, the special cookies in the afternoons are delightful, the linens are luxurious and crisp. If you are looking for a place to relax and renew, look no further, you have found it!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are beautiful, go for the beech room if you love a long soak in the tub.

We stayed at the Rosemary Inn in late July for a night and had a relaxing time. The first floor room we were in was spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable and well-appointed with a nice sitting area, and had a view of the pond and garden. It also had a modern and nicely-designed bathroom.

Breakfast was delicious and we were told it varies but the day we were there homemade cake, fruit plate, homemade oatmeal/muesli, eggs and bacon were served. Breakfast service is a little on the early side from 8:00-9:00 am but we didn't mind this very much. Our hosts Theo and Elaine were friendly and welcoming.

A car is necessary in this area which borders New Jersey and Pennsylvania. There are a few local restaurants within a 10-minute drive from the B&B (The inn also has a directory of restaurants which was very helpful for us who weren't familiar with the area). We chose this place because of its proximity to the Delaware Water Gap recreational area and the nearby beaches. We were told it was also close to one of the Appalachian trails although we did not get a chance to do any hiking while there. The inn is approximately a 2-hour drive from New York City (depending on traffic) so it is as close as city people can get to a relaxing "country" getaway that doesn't require a very long drive.

My husband and I stayed here at the end of June for his birthday for 2 nights in the Wheeler Room (rooms are named after family).

The room is on the first level - near the front door. No stairs to get to if that matters to you. Nicely decorated and furnished. Room was sparkling clean. Very quiet. See pics

Main room - queen size bed, loveseat (seats 2), desk, night stands, t.v., gas fireplace. Small closet with ironing board and iron. TV was satellite / cable with tons of stations. Bed was very comfortable - good support with a soft cushion which I love. My husband prefers firm mattresses but had no problems with it

Bathroom - once again, nicely designed with small touches and extras. It is a big walk-in shower (no tub) with a seat. This bathroom appears to be wheelchair accessible if needed.

Outside the room - lower level has a reception desk, small kitchen with free soft drinks, coffee, tea, water, small snacks. Living room, library (with movies, games) and dining area. Nice outside terrace overlooking their flower garden and ponds. More rooms are upstairs.

Breakfasts were delicious. I am vegan (strict vegetarian - no dairy, eggs, meat etc). I let them know in advance to just have toast, tea and some fruit for me but Elaine went above and beyond with vegan granola and almond milk one day and steel cut oats the next plus delicious breads (like apple cider bread). My husband had an egg dish, fruit, yogurt, bacon, pound cake one day and then fruit, steel cut oats, french toast croissant, sausage the next day. Coffee / tea / juice as well.

They have several acres and it is landscaped very nicely and you can see different birds including heron come by the pond for a visit. Also saw two baby deer one day. They have a wooded area in the back with a bit of a trail from one end of the property to the other (a half circle).

The proprietors were very friendly and welcoming. Theo told us about the property and the renovations they did to the place when they bought it.

Nearby: We did a 2 hr river kayak trip through Adventure Sports one day, a hike around Bushkill Falls another day (surprisingly nice - PA is not known for its waterfalls after all), and a 25 mile bike trip (all level or downhill) in the Leigh Valley Gorge with Pocono Biking in Jim Thorpe PA (1 hr away). They all have websites and we recommend them.

Restaurants: the best place we ate at was the German restaurant "the Black Forest Inn". It is about 25 minutes away but my husband loves schnitzel and spatzel and it was his birthday. They made a nice veggie platter for me. Excellent food - very busy on a Saturday night though. Friday's dinner at the Dalton's Columbia Inn - 5 min away - food was average. Waitresses were great and friendly. Deep fried pickles were surprisingly good.

Overall the Rosemary Inn is a fabulous place - nothing negative to say at all and we will happily stay again when we come back to the area. All the pictures and information on their website is accurate.

My husband and I were looking for a place a few hours away to spend Memorial Day weekend. I found this place and all of the amazing reviews, and I tell you I was nervously optimistic, I mean you never see all 5 star reviews, but all of the reviews were spot on! The innkeepers Theo and Elaine have made such a beautiful, inviting, comfortable retreat. The breakfasts were delicious and there were homemade cookies in the afternoon. There were always other snacks, drinks and a coffee machine for guests to enjoy at any time. They also had wine glasses and buckets so if you visit one of the wineries in the area, you could bring a bottle of wine up to your room! They are very attentive and anything you need they would be there to help. For example, they advised all the guests about how best to avoid the main highways with all the holiday traffic. If you are looking for a peaceful, tranquil retreat in a beautiful, comforting inn with great innkeepers, definitely check this place out!

We came back to the RoseMary Inn for my wife's birthday, as we did last year. The saddest part of the trip was that we let a whole year slip away before getting back to this wonderful place! Our room was wonderful—classic appointments, modern amenities, great view, and as clean as you will ever find.

See my previous review from March 6, 2011 for more details about the rooms!

Elaine and Theo are wonderful, charming hosts and their attention to detail and care for guests is evident from the moment you walk through the door.

Room Tip: you can't choose a bad room here... they are all wonderful!

My husband and I spent a night here in the Beach Room, hoping to get away one last time together before our first baby is born. We are so happy we chose the RoseMary Inn!! Our room was meticulously clean, super comfy, and so romantic! We were able to choose a movie to watch from their collection, there were snacks available any time, and there are two big books put together of activities and restaurants in the area (with menus and all) or they had plenty of suggestions ready for us too if we asked. Everything about this place shows that the owners really do care deeply about the Inn and their guests. And my husband and I can't stop raving about how delicious the breakfast was!! Definitely the perfect place to get away and relax. Highly recommended! (By the way, we went to the Lakota Wolf Preserve, which is only a few minutes away, and that was really cool too!)
