This is a perfect place to do all outdoor activities. The view is breathtaking whether you're biking, walking the dog, watching your kids play on the swing set, barbequing on the grass, cooling off in the lake, or sunbathing on the sand. There's a minimal fee to get in during the summer months, so check the website for details.

I return to this place numerous times during the spring, summer and fall just to kayak. it is gorgeous and the admission fee is very reasonable considering you can pay one fee for everyone in your car. The surroundings are gorgeous, kayaking is terrific, and you can also bring a canoe or your own boat. It's also known for good fishing and there's a campground with lots of shaded sites.

My husband and I went camping with friends close to home because they have a young daughter and were worried she wouldn't make it through the weekend (she did!). The site was large, the water is beautiful and the beach is fun. Make sure you get a site towards the edge though because middle camp sites don't have any trees and are in the sun all day.

Had some spare time that afternoon, so I decided to stop here and just take a nice quiet walk. Sun was shining and the park, not yet open for swimming, was nice and quiet.
