We had received a gift certificate so we went for dinner on a Friday night. The table for two reservation was basically ignored. We sat down 1 hour after our reservation was supposed to occur. The menu is prix fixe. Our food tasted ok but was very laden with salt and cream. It is difficult to get a light meal or one without cream. The place was packed. Our service was very perfunctory. The service is very diner like. They seat you. Wait a long time to come over to take your order then a bus boy throws down the plates very quickly. They gave the wrong appetizer and dinner to each of us. I had the impression that the man who delivered the food did not speak English and we had to switch our plates our selves.
The biggest thing is that I think we were expecting better service for what is supposed to be a high end restaurant. It is an expensive restaurant. I think one should think twice before going if you are looking for high end service. Dinner for two on a friday night with one bottle of lower priced chardonnay was almost $300.
The atmosphere is tired and dated. The peach colored walls and the shirred window coverings have to be at least 20 years old. Still no ladies room on the ground floor. A woman with crutches had difficulty navigating the stairway.
