I had business in Hasbrouck Heights and asked the locals for a recommendation.

Arrived - the menu looked very good....that is the last thing that was good.
Drinks were small and very expensive for what we received.

Authentic Italian my eye - authentic AVERAGE and priced with NYC scale...food was
poor (all 4 dishes).

Best think was the homemade Olive Oil for dipping the excellent bread....Lots of other choices..
use them

We came in and were warmly welcomed. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance and we were given a seat close to the windows. And then we got the surly waitress. No, the restaurant was not crowded but everyone in our party felt that she must have pulled a triple shift and we were at the tail end of the last shift. The food is excellent. A great selling point is that the restaurant allows you to order half salads, which gave us a chance to try several salads. They were uniformly good, well dressed and tasty. Appetizers were heavenly bites of perfection. The duck breast was tender and eggplant rollatini the best we've ever had. We had different entrees and we couldn't decide which dish was the best. The basa sole was flaky and tender. Veal piccata was a home run and the stuffed pork loin was divine. Even the linguine with red sauce was an inspired choice. Dessert gave us a fantastic bread-pudding and an airy, flourless chocolate torte. I would pass on the ice-cream, but with all the other food highlights, that was forgettable. Overall, go for the food, it's definitely worth a visit.
