“GREAT Zoo! No admission fee only donation requested”
Reviewed June 26, 2010

The Cape May Zoo is one of the nicest zoos I've visited. We have four kids so going anywhere with them becomes an expense. This zoo is free! They ask for a donation when you enter and honestly if you don't give one you'll feel badly afterwards. Very clean, animal habitats large and clean. Great descriptions for all the animals. Wide paths-handicap accessible for wheelchair or scooter. We saw everything from bald eagles to 3 different types of lemurs, a tiger a lion, flamingos, wallabies, farm animals, peacocks, camels, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, ostriches, red pandas and more. Really cute merry go round where the animals you ride aren't just horses, but all different as well as a small train ride. The large cats were really vocal the day we were there-it gave a real sense of their power. I was impressed with the size of the animals habitats, I have not seen this in other zoos I've visited and I've been to the Philadelphia Zoo, The Bronx Zoo, The Rochester Zoo (NY), The Baltimore Zoo. Other zoos could learn from this zoo. Very enjoyable just wish we picked a cooler day so we could have enjoyed it longer.

“Cheap day in the Cape May area? You betcha!”
Reviewed June 25, 2010

Fun free day and a large zoo area for the family. The carosel and the train cost money, but the zoo is free. They ask for a donation which we gave because the place is really nice. Take a day and visit with your kids. You will have fun.

“Great for a day out with the family”
Reviewed April 10, 2010

I took my son here over East break. We have been here before and i'm glad to say it is still a nice zoo. I wide varity of animals from Reptiles too Big cats. The large playground out front is a nice touch. The thing stands out most about this is the caretakers. You really get the impression their is a geniune concern for the well being of the animals. Iwould like to see a larger enclosure for the big birds but I guess they are doing their best. From speaking with the staff most of the birds their have been enjured too the extent they are unable to survive in the wild so I guess it'sa trade off for the bird. For a zoo that relies intirely on donations and private funding concessions are reasonable priced. DO NOT BE CHEAP and stiff the zoo. even if it's a couple of bucks give something.

“Great Zoo”
Reviewed April 9, 2010

I have been going to cape may since i was a little girl. ANd one of my favorite things to do is go to the zoo. There is all kinds of stuff that can be doen at the zoo they have a picnic area, bike trails (you have to bring your own bikes) and of course you can go see the animals. There are two negative aspects of the zoo while being admitted to the zoo is free parking is not. Parking is around 10 dollars however i think it just went up. and also in the picnic area there is a lot of geese and swans and some of them can be quite aggressive if you have food around just keep a watch on you little ones. Overall the zoo is awesome. Oh in addition if you have a person that has a hard time walking get a wheel chair, you have to put money down to get it but if the wheel chair is fine when you return it you get your money back. Have fun at the zoo....
