This hotel definitely met our expectations based on reviews and price. The staff are friendly and helpful, including the valet. Our room was spotless and breakfast was light and delicious. The decor and accomodations are tasteful and charming. We loved spending downtime on the large porch with cushioned benches while sipping a cocktail. location is perfect, in the middle of most tourist attractions including the beach. We will likely return!

Once again we returned to the Virginia Hotel. This time to enjoy the early summer and celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary! Dinner at the Ebbitt Room was outstanding and the wait staff excellent. All staff members were professional and even provided a golf cart ride to Peter Sheilds for dinner. Our room overlooked Jackson Street and we truly enjoyed breakfast every morning on the deck and a bottle of wine. We will be returning again in the Fall!

Once again we had a wonderful stay! Ambiance, staff responsiveness and Ebbitt Room Dinner all perfect! We will be back.
Arrived at 3pm, walked to Congress Hall, purchased some pastries and enjoyed Happy Hour on porch. Valerie was the perfect hostess and we relaxed and enjoyed the experience.

Room Tip: Corner larger room is special.

My wife and I have stayed here 6 or 7 times over the last 5 years. All of our previous stays would have rated five stars but we're sad to say that now it's down to four. They breakfast used to be a tray filled with an assortment of great delights along with the New York Times at your door. Now, the paper has been eliminated and the breakfast is a "pick two items" type offering that just doesn't equal up to our past experiences. As a matter of fact I'm almost tempted to bring the rating to a three star because that morning breakfast used to be a very relaxing and enjoyable part of the stay. Without it, you can stay anywhere that's got a comfortable bed. In fact, the next time we go to Cape May for an over night stay we'll be looking for alternatives as their cost cutting measures have left them descend into the ranks of the "good but not exceptional" offerings in town.

Stayed at The Virginia Hotel for 3 nights. Beautiful room, perfect service! The front porch is so inviting and cozy for morning coffee and a book and again late afternoon for a cocktail. Will definitely be back to The Virginia!

Stayed at the Red Cottage on Jackson Street. From check-in to check out, everything was nothing less than superb!! From the room to the service to the food. Flawless. Was sad to leave after my stay was over. The breakfast is delivered right to your door!! Highly recommend to anyone planning a trip to Cape May. You won't be disappointed!!

From the moment my husband and I checked in, we knew this would be an uncommon hotel stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating while being totally professional. I really felt as though I had been a guest here before this. Our room was beautiful with amazing décor. Both the room and attached bath were quite large and very clean. I immediately wished we could stay more than the one planned night. Since we were visiting during the week and prior to the season, the Ebbitt Room was not yet serving dinner but we enjoyed great company and delicious food in the lounge. Once we got into bed, I knew this was my kind of place. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were of excellent quality. This trip was an appetizer for us; now I want to experience the entire meal and it will definitely be at this special hotel.

Room Tip: I love the third floor because of the view and the corner rooms are large and bright. There is no el...
