stay here every year. Great staff, clean great rooms, great location. However someone needs to supervise the undoor pool and jacuzzi there is always some horribly behaved kid in there raising hell or doing dives into the hot tub. Love this place!

Staff was friendly and hotel was clean. It is a bit dated but a nice place to stay. We enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. Christmas decorations were an added bonus. They should not charge for internet since most hotels do not.

We stayed in the townhouse room 163. There was a sofa bed and no other chairs for sitting. The sofa bed for sleeping was not good. The carpeting looked stained and worn. The bathrooms had no exhaust fans in them. The refrigerator door stuck. There was no place to put anything in the bathrooms. No shelves, etc. We had two breakfasts and one dinner at Hemmingways all of which was exceptionally good. On Sunday when it was time to leave the one elelvator was out of order. We did request someone to help with our luggage and that was taken care of quickly and efficiently. The corridor to the pool area was a disgrace. The staff was great. Too bad the building is so bad.

We called to ask about coming down and we knew the national guard was down there turning people away. We asked if we could postpone our deposit for another weekend, we were told in no uncertain terms would they credit us with another weekend. We're not going based on the weather and advisories, but will also never book here again and I intend to tell all my friends!! They took our money (deposit) and basically told us to stick it. I don't care what the hotel is like....I will never stay here and will be sure my story is told to MANY people!!

I just stayed with my friend at the Grand, Halloween weekend. While I'm not going to say everything was perfect, the reviews on here scared me. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always with smiles on their faces. I loved the ambiance of the lobby and having everything accessible. Our room was in the main building on the fourth floor, it was quiet, the bed was big and very comfortable and the couch was comfy, nice and simple decor, all updated. I was only disappointed to find 1) no coffee pot in the room nor in the lobby, and 2) very little bathroom counter space to put anything on. Maid service could have been better, didn't get soaps the next day! The balcony needs some updating and although the ocean view was nice, our room overlooked the atrium banquet room outdoor area which needed updating. Otherwise everything was great.....I swam in a huge indoor pool with lots of chaise lounges, all cushioned, it was very clean. The exercise room and the game room are nice amenities as well. The food at Hemingways was delicious and plentiful, excellent service. At night we went to the cocktail lounge where there was a DJ playing great songs from any era you requested, getting people up to dance including my friend and me... even the drinks were super reasonable. Might I also add that we went on one of their "special" grand rhapsody weekends. We got 2 buffet breakfast buffets and 1 dinner, anything on the menu at Hemingways, even the steaks!! The price per night?? very reasonable. What more can you ask for, I'm going back soon!

We stayed at the Grand on Columbus Day weekend. We were able to get a two night package which included one dinner and 2 full breakfasts. We choose the cheapest room rate for this package. The room was located on the first floor overlooking the outdoor pool. The room was recently upgraded; new carpeting, beds, paint, decor, granite counters. The bathroom was in need of a makeover, but nevertheless, it was clean and functioned properly.
There was construction going on at the hotel. They must be upgrading all of the rooms.
The front desk staff was great; nice, friendly and accomodating. They couldn't have done more for you.
The restaurant, newly renamed, Hemingways, was exceptional. The food, service, everything was outstanding. Be prepared as it is pricey, but well worth every penny. Thye also have an excellent Happy Hour...it was a lot of fun!
The indoor pool was just what we needed. Soothing and fun. Most of the time we were the only people in there; that was great.
The huge negatives of this hotel are: the parking. The parking is terrible. This was off season and parking was tight as there were weddings going on all weekend. I couldn't imagine paying $400 a night in season and not being able to park. The second negative is the fee for the internet service; $10 a day. That is just pure greed. Maybe they will make internet service a free amenity someday, but it would keep me away if I had to spend a week there.
All in all we had a nice, quiet, peaceful and relaxing weekend at a great rate. That was just what we were looking for!

Checking in should have been our first warning. Though the desk clerk, Michael, was professional and friendly, the drunk woman in red was not. On the way to the room, that same woman in red's daughter was enjoying an 'encounter' with her boyfriend in the walk way! The room was smaller that we expected and the semi private balcony, that is a joke! This is a motel not a hotel. your 'balcony' is also the walk way for everyone and their brother to get to their room. The exit door was broken so everytime someone went in or out, it would slam loudly. The next morning we were awakened by beep...beep....beep and scrape...scrape...scarpe...Repairs to the room next to ours and the following day to ours! We know that repairs must be made each year and off season is the time to do them but not on an occupied room! We called the front desk 3X the first day to find out what was going on. We would have been happy with an apology but the attitute at the desk and of the manager was unacceptable. After the 3rd call on the first day, we were offered a free breakfast (horrible food) with a 'so what' attitude. It was as if they were saying 'we know you will be up anyway so you may as well eat'. The 2nd day was worse as OUR room was being scraped and painted. Noise, paint fumes and loud conversation served as our alarm...Not to mention the fumes that came from the bus parked almost directly under our window several times a day. Again calls and visits to the front desk asking for the manager got us nowhere The manager refused to come out from the back or get on the phone each time expecting the poor people at the desk to traslate for them. They offered a room change to a room change, we declined as that part was also being worked on...finally, we were offered $100 back. If the manager had come out or got on the phone and simply apologized with perhaps an offer of dinner, we would have been satisfied...We go to the Cape a few times year and this was our first and LAST visit to the not so Grand Hotel.
