We have returned to this hotel many times over the last 30 years and continue to go back because of the family atmospheir. We have always been treated well and the facility has been updated a couple of times since we've been going there. I would rate it very high especially if you have family

I was very disappointed with this Inn.... We stayed this past weekend, and the photos on the website make the rooms look so much bigger than they are. I hated that you open the door RIGHT in to the bedroom. Each bed is up against a wall, with one end table in between. That's how small the room is. The beds were comfortable, and I liked that there is a thermostat for the air conditioner. There is a small closet, and a dresser with a TV. Not even a mirror, so we had to do our hair and make up in the living room, but at least is was bigger. Housekeeping didn't give us new towels at night, so in the morning, we had to call to get someone to bring them up to us. The outside restroom was gross... a toilet and a shower kind of just inside a door. go to your room if you need to "go". It is nice that at the beach you get 2 free lounge chairs, but they are the most uncomfortable things around. Bring your own chairs!!! All in all, the Inn is ok, just NOT at $386/night for 4 people.

We regret that your visit did not measure up to your expectations. Our entire staff understands the fact that we all work for you and our other guests. We strive to make each visit a wonderful memory.

We have nine (9) different room configurations, and, apparently, the one you picked has two (2) beds in the bedroom and which accommodates the maximum number of guests. Others have just one bed with a nightstand at each side... and you can't beat the view.

Our housekeeping staff starts early in the morning and often complete their work by mid-afternoon. I was glad I had the chance to personally provide you and your family with additional towels when requested.

Every day we do our best to improve our services and we hope we have the privilege of a future visit from you and your family.

We only stayed one night, but we had a wonderful experience at the Montreal Inn. The room was extremely clean and the staff was very accommodating. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking tools, ready to make a meal. I have never seen a hotel kitchen that even had a colander! Almost all rooms have a balcony with a view of the ocean and beach (except first floor, which is not high enough to see the ocean, so you have a patio that opens out to the pool.) There is a bar right next to the pool and a restaurant onsite. We had breakfast there and it was just "okay." Our bed was a little hard for my taste, and the sofa bed was worse than that, but my kids were so exhausted at the end of the day that they would have slept anywhere. Free beach tags and beach lounge chairs are a nice touch they provide, and you can rent an umbrella. There is also a shower and changing room by the pool that you can use if you want to go to the beach before or after you have checked out. Next time we will bring our bikes along, since it was a little far to walk to the "mall" shopping area. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at the Montreal Inn and would recommend it to friends and family.

Room Tip: I recommend the higher floors, they have a nice ocean view. First floor overlooks the pool and any...

We stayed at the Montreal Inn from 7/14 to 7/19/12. There is nothing particularly great that sets it apart from every other Inn/Motel/Hotel in the area. In fact, a series of missteps met us as we arrived. We were told our room was ready by one of the clerks -- but she was then corrected by another clerk. So we waited. They indicate check-in is 2:00 but guaranteed at 4:00. That's a bit confusing --it's either 2 or 4 -- pick one. When we were ultimately given our keys we entered the room only to find it NOT clean (and the toilet not flushed!). So, back down to the desk we went.
The second floor has a sun deck/play area with miniature golf, shuffle board and ping pong. Be wary of rooms on the second floor anywhere near this deck as you will NEVER get any privacy, as folks play, exercise and sit on this deck often extremely close to your sliding door. Your morning coffee is often greeted by playing children, or others on their phones frequently wandering very near your rooms deck area. In the evening, this can become quite an annoyance if you are trying to sleep as guests often come to the deck late to play, or sit and chat (and laugh loudly).
Overall, the Montreal Inn is nothing spectacular and offers nothing more than many other locations in the area. It's ok - but don't expect to be wowed.

Room Tip: Select a room on the third or fourth floor as you will maximize your privacy. First floor is locate...

Thank you very much for your feedback. We value each and every comment regarding our property and consider each observation with the utmost appreciation. We are quite proud of the reputation of the Montreal Inn as a family destination as we celebrate our 46th season under the same family management. We are humbled that most who visit us come back again and again and again. Upon hearing that you did not feel the same way, we understand that we perhaps fell short on what we strive to consistently offer our guests, which is quality, comfort, friendliness and superb hospitality. We wish you had alerted us during your recent stay, allowing us to know your concerns then and to take corrective action to make your stay more enjoyable.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you and everyone that this winter, during our next phase of renovations, that the concern your mentioned regarding the 2nd floor deck will be addressed. When you return, and we hope you will, we are confident you will be pleased with our response to your comments.

Thank you again for your contribution here and we look forward to your next visit to the Montreal Inn... Cape May's #1 family beachfront destination for four generations.

This was our first time at the Montreal Inn. We had a newly renovated room with ocean view. It was our first family vacation with our 10 month old. The room was absolutely spotless. You smelled the cleanliness when you walked in plus they have an air purifier. Harry's Bar & Grill was convenient for us. There was nothing like feeding our daughter her first bottle on the balcony while looking at the ocean. The staff were extremely friendly. In fact, we forgot some stuff and they are great enough to be sending it to us. Would stay here again!

Don't think we had a renovated room, but we had everything we needed and the place was clean. Hopefully beds will be replaced on renovation as they weren't the comfiest. Great sea front views from all rooms and service was friendly. Appreciated the free beach chairs on the much quieter end of the beach and happy hour at Harry's (the hotel bar) was great value and super chilled out vibe. Only complaint was that the price for the room seemed a bit over the top for what you get.

Room Tip: Rooms on floor 1 open out onto the pool deck - great if thats where you want to be, possibly not so...

We always love the Montreal Inn (we've been coming since 1990), but the last few years have been even better! For the Fourth they put on a free BBQ lunch and Springsteen tribute concert (four hours of Bruuuuuuce!), capped off with fireworks on the beach. We've just changed our reservations for next year so we can repeat the Fourth at the Montreal Inn- moving around a trip to Europe and a family reunion- but it's a CAN'T MISS!

Room Tip: all the rooms are fabulous, with ocean views!
