This hotel is very old. However, it is absolutely beautiful. They have modernized the rooms and they are very nicely decorated. Bed was very comfortable. Right across the street from the beach. Hotel staff is pleasant and accommodating. Excellent. A+++++++++++

What an impressive place. I wish we could have stayed here but we just were in town for the evening. The grounds are glorious! The decor is to die for!!!! The lobby bar had great live music and fun drinks. I got something with cucumber - a perfect summer drink. The shops were full of cool jewelry and clothes. I want to stay here next time I'm in town.

Incredible hotel and resort. Truly a historic experience, with the perfect location & amenities to boot. Very expensive in peak season but worth it. The piano bar will take you back in time! Relaxing and family friendly at the same time.

We got there a little early, but were quite happy when we found out that our room was ready. When we walked into our room we were quite pleased with the size and the view. This is a very pretty hotel. The service could be better at the front desk. The cleaning crew were excellent and efficient. The bellhops and valets were also great. I found that the service in the pub and the blue pig restaurant was good. The staff at the downstairs bar was a little inattentive. The concierge booked all of our meals for us, this really helped.
The proximity to the beach and restaurants is awesome. The beach staff were very helpful and worked hard for their tips.
I would recommend to management that they do improve their wifi as it really isn't very good.

The kids loved CH as did I and the wife.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and were absolutely delighted in everything about Congress Hall especially the staff. From the parking attendants, to the front desk staff, to the beach attendants and restaurant staff and cleaning crew we were amazed at how well versed and polite the staff was. They were helpful and friendly and just made our visit special. We ate off property once and the service was so bad in comparison to the Congress Hall and Blue Pig Staff. It made us want to stay on property. We had a king size city view room and it was large and decorated beautifully. The bathroom was roomy and clean. The only thing we didn't like was our bed, it was lopsided and not comfortable. An improvement there would be great for next summer. The hotel is decorated beautifully and we loved the fact that we didn't need to bring beach chairs or towels. The porch with rocking chairs was peaceful and we loved getting cocktails and relaxing there. I highly recommend the "chilled cucumber" so tasty! The live music nightly was superb and the kids activities seemed great, cannot wait to bring the kids here when they get older. It's just a beautiful well located property. We would love to come back next summer.

We had originally scheduled a weekend stay during the low season, but unfortunately due to a serious family crisis, we had to reschedule our stay and were told that there would be a fee to reschedule even though we called over two weeks ahead of time and we were already paying more for the room because we were now rescheduling during the high season. We were referred to the owner to see if he would waive this ridiculous fee but never heard back after calling him twice so we cancelled our reservation and ended up staying at The Mission Inn where they know how to treat a guest with care and kindness. What a shame that the people at Congress Hall have forgotten that simple fact. Needless to say we will NEVER step foot in Congress Hall ever again and neither will any of our friends that frequent Cape May. Pure foolishness on their part.

This hotel is beautiful. Great location and very nice amenities and rooms!

The problem and the only main issue is the staff. The check in process is very poor. Reception team in general very unhelpful and just rude. Just very disappointing. This is one of the best hotels in Cape May and its like the staff know this, so they don't feel they need to be either helpful or friendly. The Blue Pig restaurant staff in the evening - very rude verging on mean.....

The Hotel gets 5 stars - the staff get 1 star........
