I have nothing but good things to say about our stay at the Mission Inn! Susan and Ray are wonderful. It was our first time to the cape and they helped us get reservations, gave directions and other helpful advice. Breakfast each morning was delicious and filled us up! Our favorite was the Tropical French toast and orange, peach, mango fruit juice. I have an allergy to black berries and never had to remind them. We stayed in the St Francisco de Asis room and it was great as well. The bed was really comfy, and the room was immaculate. Each morning we got up and by the time we got back from breakfast the room was made up. We decided to go to the beach on our last day and were able to use the beach chairs and umbrellas that the Inn provided. Lastly Susan and Ray also gave us a wonderful gift bag for our daughter who is due to make her appearance this July! They truly made us feel like a part of their family. All in all it was relaxing and memorable trip! We hope to be able to return to cape may soon and will def be staying at the Mission Inn

The Mission Inn is beautiful and beyond comfortable. It was the perfect spot for celebrating our 25th anniversary. We enjoyed the ammenities of our room, lounging in the common rooms and riding the complimentary bicycles. Breakfasts are superb--especially on the sunny veranda. Susan and Ray are the perfect hosts. We plan to make this a biannual get away place for R & R and some pampering.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at The Mission Inn during an extended weekend trip to Cape May. We had a luxurious stay in the San Diego Alcala room with its gas fireplace and heated floors, comfortable bed with a beautiful custom heardboard, jacuzzi tub and large shower, and a flat-screen TV that you can swivel to watch from the bed or tub. The room is adjacent to the guest lounge and dining area, but we were not disturbed by the background noise and preferred the close proximity to the microwave, fridge, and refreshments.

We enjoyed the following about the inn:

+ Gracious Innkeepers (Susan and Ray are very sensitive to their guests' desires for comfort and privacy. They also are very smart entrepreneurs.)
+ Impeccable housekeeping
+ Attention to detail (beautiful murals everywhere including bathroom doors and closets)
+ Location to the beach
+ Delicious breakfasts (We enjoyed such delights as thick turkey bacon, egg and veggie pizzas, and apple cinnamon coffee cake.)
+ Wonderful beverage and snack selection (The first place I've stayed that provided white hot chocolate!)
+ Lovely bath products plus a tote bag as a souvenir

We had the following as an area of improvement:

- No back or side access to the house if you park in the driveway

Room Tip: We had a luxurious stay in the San Diego Alcala room with its gas fireplace and heated floors, comfo...

I stumbled upon the Mission Inn quite by accident about 10 years ago. Since coming across this wonderful establishment I have stayed there each time I visit the Cape. I have stayed there many times, and each time it feels like coming home. Susan and Ray have a way of making you feel like family! The people are lovely, the food is delicious, and the tranquility I feel when I am there is a welcome reprieve from my every day life. I highly recommend The Mission Inn if you are in town...

We've stayed at many inns, motels and hotels over the years, and most of them, even the nicest, are pretty forgettable. The Mission Inn is the exception. Granted, it is a bit pricey, but you get a lot for the money and there is no way you will ever forget the rooms here. Ingeniously designed, each one is decorated to resemble a specific Californian mission, with fantastic headboards, and the walls and ceilings are full of murals, so that you feel like the outdoors has been brought in and you are in a dreamlike setting. Many have in-room spa tubs and fireplaces (gas or electric; Cape May does not allow wood-burning fp in b&bs). Immaculate. Service is outstanding. The breakfasts are stellar and customized to any dietary needs or preferences, with a dizzying selection of fruit juices, and the afternoon hors d'oeuvres and wine are excellent as well. Innkeeper Susan Roberts thinks of everything, down to finding out whether you like ceramic mugs or glass ones for your hot drinks. We stayed in the San Francisco de Asis (all the pictures in this review are of this room), which has a two-person spa tub sunken into the floor, and a curved brick glass wall to hide away the bathroom, and murals with flowering vines and blue skies and puffy clouds on the beamed ceilings - you will marvel at the engineering that fit everything into this beautiful and unusual room. Linens & pillows are very fine, there are lush robes, and I wanted to take the mattress home strapped to the roof of the car. Note that the ceiling slopes down over the spa tub and the clearance is low on that wall. Lovely public gathering rooms, free bikes and beach chairs, and a private outdoor walled patio garden with even more murals. One block to the beach - you can see it at a distance between houses from the breakfast room picture window. Views are not especially notable from the inn. You can walk into town in about six minutes; walk to the ocean and take the promenade. This is a foodie sort of town, and the innkeepers are very knowledgeable about restaurant suggestions and reservations; they clearly adore trying to please you.

Room Tip: San Francisco de Asis is gorgeous. Right next to it is the smaller but very charming Santa Barbara...

My mom and I arrived at this magnificent inn for our annual Mother's Day weekend in Cape May... a 12 year tradition that was made extra special this year because of the hospitality of Susan and Ray! First, the inn is beautiful!! The handpainted detail in each room is unmatched, the relaxing common areas are a perfect setting to chat with guests, read or contemplate which great restaurant to go to. Second, the breakfasts are gourmet! The selection of yummy juices, fresh fruits and delicious breakfast items had us looking forward to the next morning feast. It's hard to believe this was our first stay at the inn... We felt welcome, very much at home, and look forward to returning to our new friends at the Mission Inn
