“Great Getaway”

what a great relaxing mid week getaway. The staff and owners were awesome, we have been going to Cape May for many years and have always had great times at many B&Bs but Susan and Ray have raised the bar to an unfair height all the other B&Bs are fighting for 2nd place. The rooms are all unique with king size beds two person tubs and showers, with in room fire places a guest kitchen for snacks it lacks nothing. can't wait till we go back

My husband and I celebrated ouir 10th anniversary at the inn this past weekend. It was a perfect stay. We have stayed at other B&B's in Cape May, but this inn is topnotch in every way. First, the innkeepers are lovely people. We spent time with Ray and his gentle and warm welcome was so genuine. He gave us a tour of the inn and every single room is beautiful. I spent much time visiting the website trying to choose a room. This was completely unnesessary since every room is gorgeous. Each has a fireplace and amazing tile andstone bathrooms. Appetizers including cheese, fruit, and warm dips and crackers are delicious. Wine, coffee, tea, and cookies are available all day.
The common areas are inviting and cozy. No detail is overlooked.
When making the reservation you asked about food preferences. I neglected to mention a food aversion to certain types of eggs since I didn't want to sound "picky". It just so happens that a gourmet breakfast with eggs was beautifully served in the morning. I quietly gave my husband that portion ....within seconds Ray came into the breakfast area with the amazing chef Leslie. Both could not do enough to please me, even though it was completely my fault. Ray asked us at least 5 times about our preferences:):)::) Leslie quickly brought me a breakfast alternative that was amazing. Breakfasts were served with a blueberry corn muffin on the side of the entree. Grilled pineapple was served as a starter along with a minimum of 6 juice choices and fantastic coffee.
We hated to leave after breakfast. One night was not enough. We are hooked on The Mission Inn and look forward to visiting this summer to enjoy the backyard terrace and firepit while having a glass of wine of course. Thank you Ray and Leslie. We look forward to meeting Susan next time. I spoke with her over the phone when making our reservation and she had such a lovely, warm personality. It is clear that Ray and Susan have devoted their lives to making this inn a place that their guests will return to on a regular basis.

We just returned from a few nights at The Mission Inn. Susan and Ray (the innkeepers) go to extremes to make you feel comfortable. We are very casual and did not want to stay in a Victorian Inn and having traveled the southwest we thought The Mission Inn would be perfect. We were not disappointed. We felt extremely welcome and very comfortable. The Inn is spotlessly clean and everything was of high quality. The breakfasts were fantastic. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on. They have almost completely rebuilt the inside of the inn and their attention to detail is unsurpassed. A fireplace in your room is very special in January. The Inn is 1 block from the ocean and a easy 20 minute walk to center of town. We will go back!!!

Excellent experience at The Mission Inn. If you walk away in want, its your fault because Susan and Ray are concerned with your every need and desire. The Inn is extremely clean and the food is outstanding. The detail of the ambiance is extraordinary. We look forward to coming back in the spring/summer/fall to experience what the outside of the Inn has to offer (patio, great chairs on the porch, fountain, etc.) Best B&B I've ever been to.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with any of the rooms however when it states "a small bathroom", they m...

Our Stay at the Mission Inn, this past weekend was great. Susan and Ray were so hospitable The rooms were really nice and very clean; the breakfast was great. It was nice to stay in a place outside the Victorian Character. The Mission Inn is really unique, and the Inn Keepers are very warm and friendly. They are very helpful in recommending places. We met some new friends that were staying at the Inn as well; friends that we plan on going back and meeting for another visit. We left feeling relaxed and fulfilled. A warm kiss and a hug good bye to Susan and Ray, until next time.

You will find The Mission Inn guest rooms to be bright, airy, tastefully decorated, creative and restful places for the weary traveler as was the purpose of the original California missions. Each year additional improvements are planned and implemented. Return guests are always finding the "little changes" that reflect the attention to detail so noticeable at the Inn.
