Despite being rained out this past Columbus Day Weekend, we managed to have a fabulous time. We met another couple there and stayed in (2) Deluxe Queen Rooms. Both rooms were beautifully decorated in period colors down to the wall coverings and framed pictures. The beds were extremely comfortable. The bathrooms were small, but fully functional. Our room had an upgraded shower with a stall; the other contained a claw tub with a shower and curtain. We loved the shape of our room (#27) on the third floor with its unique nooks and crannies and the loveseat sofa for a relaxing get together. We would have liked to sit out on one of the many porches to have a drink overlooking the ocean, but the northeaster did not afford us the opportunity. The main building had a lovely sitting area that could accommodate at least a dozen guests comfortably. The decor and lighting are both outstanding. There is a decent sized flat screen tv in the sitting room, although it was usually muted because of the soothing background music. A very fast computer is available for guests to use in addition to free wifi. The daily 4:00 tea and 5:30 wine and cheese were both very good with various selections to choose from. Sweets and baked items were available from 4:00 to 7:00, while the (3) kinds of wine, cheese and crackers, and veggie tray were served from 5:30 to 7:00. Coffee is available from 7:00 am, and breakfast is served from 8 to 10. There is a good assortment of fresh fruit and juices in the morning as well as yogurt and a granola mix. All this in addition to your hot-served breakfast!! Because the Angel of the Sea was so comfortable, we didn't mind the two days straight of rain and can't wait to return in some better weather.

Room Tip: Our room on the third floor of the attached building was very quiet.

We stayed at the Angel of the Sea in mid Sept. Loved the character of the place. The Staff were all very welcoming and treated us like we were family. Enjoyed the breakfasts, tea time and Happy Hour. The room was decorated in a Victorian style as you would expect. I loved all bedazzled bowling balls. We liked it so much, we did not want to leave.

the location couldn't be better but not impressed with anything else. From the moment we arrived the curtness of the women checking us in started us with a bad taste, it is not the way you want to start a visit. Room was just okay, view was beautiful. I found the staff not that hospitable except for the younger girl that was there on Friday night. The other house guests were also talking about the curtness of this one particular woman at the wine and cheese. The topping on the cake to me was when a couple that just got married asked to stay for an extra hour or two and they didn't accommodate them and the staff was making faces behind there back like they were asking for the world. I don't understand the other reviews. If it wasn't for the location, I would have rated it poor.

We are in the Hospitality Business and look forward to spoiling our guests each day. It is difficult sometimes to get everything we need done before guests arrive and we can be a little stressed trying to do too many things at one time. We have more guests arriving before check out time then ever. I will remind all our staff to carry a smile even after they are tired.
Sadly you misheard the exchange involving the recently married couple(3 weeks before) They were in town to shoot some photos and were accommodated with a single night stay. Their photographer pushed back their time from 10AM which would have had them looking for an extra hour to 4 PM. Their room was booked and needed to be ready by 2 for the next guests. They were not able to book an additional night. They were offered to call us about 3 pm and if we had a room open we would let them use it, but she needed the room from 1:30 for a 4 pm shoot? Guessing she had Hair and Makeup people for the photo shoot. Sadly the room for a couple hours wasn't enough. Sometimes people are asking for more then can be accommodated.

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. From the staff, to the food, to the room we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Being so close to the beach was icing on the cake. Nightly wine and cheese on the porch with the other guests was a great time to unwind after a long day at the beach and it was great to socialize with the other guests. Our only regret is that we had to leave and did not visit the Angel sooner! We will most definitely be back!

My wife & I spent two (2) nights at this most wonderful B&B in late September, 2013. We've stayed at many wonderful B&B's but this one is #1 for us. It is located one block off the Atlantic Ocean in the beautiful sea-side resort of Cape May, NJ. It was built in the early 1900's and it is a great example of the many Victorian homes still standing in Cape May (#2 to San Francisco in original standing Victorian homes). At The Angel of the Sea B&B the day begins with a fantastic breakfast - fresh fruit, homemade pound cake, baked egg dish w. Taylor's Pork Roll (an East Coast specialty) OR a Belgium Waffle. Later in the day a type of high tea is served at 4:00 pm, followed at 5:30 pm with wine & cheese. Every room is decorated in Victorian fashion with a large comfortable bed, bathroom and flat screen tv. The living room & dining room is also decorated in Victorian furniture and is extremely comfortable. We had a wonderful time here and plan to return again.

Room Tip: We had room #19 which has a separate entrance with its own private porch.

If you are looking for an awesome place to stay while in Cape May the Angel of the Sea is it! I've been staying there for a few years now and love it! You get a great value for your money with coffee and pastries and then a little later you have wine and cheese & dips and munchies. They put the coffee out early (7 a.m.) so you can sneak out and grab a cup as you get ready for their scrumptious breakfast. They offer 2 hot entrees which are always delicious. Aside from that you have cereals, fruit and they make a fruit cobbler that I wait for which is my favorite! The rooms are kept nice and are so comfortable. I love it! It's a phenomenal B&B and it makes my visits to Cape May so enjoyable. Also enjoy their porch - relaxing with the sea breeze. It's close to the beach. I also love to shop and look at all their jewelry! it's a perfect place. Thank you Angel of the Sea from a very satisfied guest! That's why I keep returning - look no further but make your plans and have Angel of the Sea be your special place to stay as well!

My husband and I have celebrated our anniversary there for the past six years. The Angel is so cozy and the staff are so friendly, it's like going to visit someone you love. The view of the ocean just add to the charm and romance of this wonderful B & B. Tea time is so decadent, and the wine and cheese table is very nice. Meet old friends, make new ones, just relax, or get romantic, the Angel is a fabulous place to make it all happen. There is no pool, but with an ocean right across the street, who needs it!

Room Tip: Check the rooms out on line.
